Kelly's Eye, Number One

Simon Kelly's fifteen three figure scores that included a game high checkout of 116 provided the ammunition to take Kings Arms B to a 7-4 success over Bluebird B in Plymouth City Super League's Division A.

Dale Halford was prominent for the defeated side with twelve tons whilst Halford's teammate Jon Parsons matched Kelly's fine checkout of 116.

Halford and Kelly both dominated the shortest game stats as Halford's 17 darter in his 3-0 win was only bettered by a 15 dart leg by Kelly in a 3-1 success.

Kelly's teammate Roger Backway finished the match with a 3-0 individual win that contained a second leg that was ended after 17 scoring darts.

Fourteen scores of a ton or more by Glenn Halford contributed heavily to Bluebird A's 6-5 win in their visit to Steampacket.

Halford's tally was propped up by two maximums whilst teammate Glenn Austin plundered a maximum of his own to finished the night with eleven three figure scores.

Tony Teal made it four maximums for his team with one of his own whilst Matt Thompson nailed a brace of 180s for the defeated side and George Beckett's 126 three dart outshot was the best checkout of the contest.

Legends Lounge might have left it too late to mount a serious challenge to Octagon at the top of the table, but that didn't stop them from inflicting an 8-3 defeat on their rivals.

Scott Wapshott was the top scoring player for both teams with fourteen scores of a ton or more whilst three of his victorious teammates also made it to ten or more ton plusses.

Wapshott's tally was accented by checkouts of 114 and 112 in his 3-1 singles win, as well as one of the seven maximums plundered by the talented duodectet.

Andrew Cook meandered his way to thirteen three figure scores overall whilst Frankie Stout ended on eleven tons and Scott Cook contributed ten scores of at least a ton.

The only other 180 hitter for the second placed home side was Ant Pearn whilst Lee Hellings added to maximums to his ten tons overall.

Teammate John Mann was the best ton hitter for the defeated champions elect with thirteen that included maximum.

The highlight of Andy Bates twelve ton haul was the highest checkout of the match and week's fixtures as Bates put away 152 at the first time of asking.

Other maximums in the game came from Fred Goldsmith and Neil White to make it 5-2 in that particular stats, but the spoils on the night went to the side who still sit ten points from the top despite this win.

Harry Bull heard scores of a ton or more called twelve times after throwing in a 7-4 victory for Indian Inn over Colebrook in a match that also saw father Danny Bull finished from 100 at the first time of asking.

Bull's stablemate Adam Fell was also in good nick throughout as he put ten scores of a ton or more onto the scoreboard.

Dave Pethick showed there's plenty of life in the old dog yet with a superb display during Fawn A's 8-3 triumph away at Victory.

Pethick plundered legs in 16 and 18 darts, as well as a game high checkout of 98, in his 3-1 success over Chris Beale who threw the only 180 of the match at Pethick in riposte.

Highlights of a 9-2 win for Cherry Tree A at Saltram included a Nick Bryant maximum to join a 98 checkout by Reg Matthews for the defeated team.

In Division B, Ben Welsh's contribution of twelve tons led his Hyde Park team to a comeback from 4-2 and 5-3 down to claim a 6-5 win in the last singles rubber.

Wayne Town was prominent for the defeated team with eleven tons whilst teammate Neil Holder also showed his undoubted class with ten three figure scores overall.

Town and Holder added combination checkouts of 70 to their night's work; a figure that was only bettered by teammate Cory Jonas with an outshot of 82.

Town's leg in 14 darts during a 3-1 success put the visitors from Greenbank 5-3 up before the hosts rallied to make it 5-5.

Jacob Bentham was the hero of the hour as he ran out a 3-1 winner in the final game of the night despite Dan Jewell's 17 darter in the only leg he won.

Simon Stevenson heard scores of a ton or more called twelve times during an 8-3 triumph for Cornwall Gate in their visit to St Levans.

Two 180s ticked Stevenson's total over to that mark whilst Matt Vosper was also in fine fettle with eleven tons of his own that included a third maximum for the runaway leaders.

Andy Malinowski checked 119 on his way to eleven ton plusses; a finish that was the only effort to better a 100 kill by Suzy Christian for the defeated team.

Christian was on the end of Stevenson's (30.67) very best in the individual phase as he knitted together legs in 15, 16 and 18 darts for a 3-0 success whilst Vosper's 16 darter helped him to a 3-0 win of his won.

Alex Truscott showed some of his very best tungsten with ten tons that helped Cherry Tree B over the line to a 7-4 win against Duchy A.

Truscott's teammates showed their finishing prowess as Shaun Dring's 99 single visit kill was only bettered by a fine 109 three darter from Logan Carroll.

There was a 180 for each side in another close encounter as Fawn B were bested by Victoria in another last game of the night decider, 6-5.

Alan Brady fired an 85 checkout to go alongside his maximum whilst Steve Williams repeated Brady's three treble visit for the away side before his teammate Aaron Wright won the game 3-1 in the final singles matchup.

An 80 checkout and the game's only maximum from Danny Hoyle couldn't keep Kings Tamerton from falling to a 7-4 reversal at the hands of Kings Arms A.

Ian Heggie's 99 checkout and a maximum by teammate Peter Lamerton provided the magical moments for Ker St in their 8-3 success at Duchy B.
