One From Sixteen To Be Crowned Champ

Sixteen competitors will do battle down to one winner on Sunday, 27th November in a bid to be crowned the 2022 Champion of Champions.

The charity event which is raising money for Mind this year has breezed past the £1500 mark in donations with a big raffle and auction set to take place during Final's Night held at the Victory Inn.

Reigning two time champion, Octagon's John Mann, will be hot favourite to add his third crown after coming through the last 32 phase against Plymouth City Super League Players Champion, Mark Gilbery 3-1.

Looking most likely to stop that from happening is Paddy Archibald of the Victory Inn who put out both five time champion Simon Stevenson and Devon's Mark Shears on his way to his first Final's Night.

Joining that pair as the other two winners from the Fawn venue are Clifton's Dan Jewell and Kings Arms Paul Hendy who both came through with 3-1 wins.

Victory's Paul Gavican successfully navigated the cut throat previous round of play with a 3-1 triumph over 2018 Champion Neil White whilst the talented Simon Washington makes his first Final's Night appearance.

Indian Inn's Harry Bull will be looking to become the youngest winner in the competition's history after a 3-1 win over Cornwall's Jaden Whitting who made it to the Last 16 last year.

Completing a quintet of players looking to take the the title home from their home venue are Quinton Taylor, Billy Evans and Darren Collis who all will undoubtedly receive rapturous support.

Two veterans from the Fawn are also in the hunt for the title after both Dave Matthews and Fred Goldsmith made it through from the Indian.

Alongside them, the only female competitor to ever make to this stage, Jodie Hawton, will be looking for another success to add to her three in the ladies event; making her one of only two former winners left in.

Ian Heggie, Andrew Cook and multiple time semi finalist Andy Bates make up the sixteen who will arrive at 7pm for a single draw with the eight best of 5, 501 Last 16 games starting promptly afterwards.

Spectators will continue the enjoyment with Last 8 over the same distance whilst the Semis will be best of 7 and the Final played until the first to five legs.

Games will start with the players throwing the for bull in the first leg only; the winner of which will have the luxury of the throw in the odd legs, including crucially the last one where required.

The bust rule will apply throughout and the famous, old tournament will come to crescendo with one player being crowned the 2022 Champion of Champions.
