Scott's Wap-Shott In The Arm For King Billy

Scott Wapshott top scored with thirteen tons in a 10-1 Monday Premier League win for King Billy over Octagon B, in which Kevin Lofthouse's total of twelve was only bettered by Wapshott's 180.

Andrew Cook (26.84) had the best individual average but his 17 darter in a 3-0 win was bettered twice by teammate Antony Hayman who won legs in 14 and 16 during his success by the same score.

John Mann threw four of the nine maximums in a 9-2 win for reigning champions Tradesmans as they set about Bluebird A to claim a 9-2 win.

Mann's quartet rounded off a twelve ton personal haul whilst teammate Andy Bates helped himself to a 180 on his way to ten tons.

Teammates Mike O'Brien, Fred Goldsmith and Jaden Whitting also added a maximum each to make it eight for the Stonehouse team overall with Alan Masters hitting one for the defeated visitors.

Masters (27.83) was also in blistering form in the individual phase as he checked a trio of 18 dart legs in a 3-0 win over Goldsmith; the only singles triumph for his team.

Goldsmith had earlier paired with Bates (29.32) to claim a 2-0 601 doubles win in just 41 darts with a 20 dart leg quickly followed by one in 21.

Those efforts were only bettered on the night by Mann and partner Lee Agar who won a solitary 601 leg in 17 darts during their 2-0 success.

The onslaught of top class darts didn't stop with the team games as Mann's 18 darter in his 3-0 win was bettered twice on the night.

Whitting won his individual game 3-0 with the help of a 17 darter whilst Bates' leg in 15 contributed to another 3-0 score line.

Harry Bull's twelve tons in Indian Inn's 6-5 win over Bluebird C with a 106 checkout from the youngster contributing to the winning point.

Danny Bull bagged himself a brace of 180s in the encounter with Glenn Halford adding a sole effort for the defeated hosts.

Halford also finished a leg in 17 in a 3-0 that made the score line a bit more respectable in the final tie of the match with the scores already at an unassailable 6-4 to the Stoke village side.

Paul Palmer's twelve ton haul lit up Octagon A's 10-1 win over Colebrook in a match that saw three of Palmer's teammates reach at least ten tons.

Lee Hellings equalled Palmer's record of twelve whilst there was eleven three figure scores from Jayden Dodd and Dave Pethick reached ten in the match.

Four of the five 180s were plundered by the Stonehouse side with Hellings brace added to by Dodd and Palmer a single time each.

Steve Towl was the visitors only 180 hitter and he added another nine more three figure scores to that to give him ten overall.

At the business end of legs, Octagon were clinical with Alfie Ford's 98 checkout proving to be the highest of the match.

Palmer's 3-2 win in the individual phase was accented by legs of 16 and 14 darts whilst both Ford and Hellings checked a leg in 18 during wins of 3-0 and 3-1 respectively.

Over the 601 doubles distance, there was two 20 dart legs as Palmer and Pethick joined teammates Hellings and Ford in achieving that particular feat.

Checkouts of 140 and 106 from Scott Cook and a brace of 180s from Anthony Pearn assisted his Victory B team to a 9-2 success over Cherry Tree A.

Paul Freeman added to Pearn's 180 with one of his own and saw one of his legs in a 3-1 win put away in just 18 darts.

Cook went one better in his 3-0 win with a 17 darter whilst Mike Whatley's 3-0 win was helped along by the best leg of the night in 16.

A close 6-5 between Victory A and Cherry Tree B saw four main flashes of genius from three of the twelve on display.

Marc Webber's 17 darter in his 3-0 win and a 113 checkout from Quinton Taylor contributed to the topsy-turvy nature of the affair, which came down to the last tie of the match.

Tony Tasker gave Victory to the spoils with a 17 darter and a maximum in a 3-1 win in the decider to give his team the spoils.

An 8-3 win for Bluebird B over Victory C had just the one moment of magic with Stuart Couling checking 100 in a single visit for the highest of the match.
