Mark Shears (31.31) put together a magnificent 3-0 singles victory that ended with legs in 17, 13 and 18 in a Plymouth City Super League Division A 7-4 win for Ford Inn at Tradesmans.



Teammate Lee Rodmell opened the individuals of the hotly contested matchup with a 3-0 triumph that contained a leg in 15 darts.


After Shears' heroics, Ant Pearn picked up 100 and 103 combination checkouts, but that couldn't arrest his slide to a 3-2 loss.



Dan Brazier rounded off the match with a brace of 18 darters that came in a 3-1 individual triumph that was one of four the team managed.


Over the 601 distance, Simon Washington and Chris Edgecombe put together a doubles leg that saw the pair hear 'game shot' called after throwing 20 darts.



Washington was the main aggressor in the scoring phase with eighteen ton plusses nailed over the course of the contest, whilst Lewis Byrne checked 80 in one visit for the best kill for the hosts.


Rodmell showed he has more about him than just finishing as he put together thirteen tons, and Pearn found eleven tons overall.



Shears' ten ton haul included the only maximum of what turned out to be an epic encounter between two top class teams.


Leaders Falstaff built their 9-2 win at Legends Lounge A on the steady foundations of Scott Lawrey's sixteen three figure visits.



Kelvin Rowe also chipped in with twelve tons, and ten more from Paul Goundry showed their superiority throughout.


The maximums in the contest were shared between the two teams as Lawrey's effort was matched by Reece Mealin.



Lawrey's three treble visit came in a 3-1 triumph that saw him put away the best leg of the match with a 14 darter.


Two 180s adorned Lewis Dare's fifteen ton haul that pushed Raffles A into the right direction in a 7-4 win at Kings Arms B.



Dare was supported well by two members of his fellow cohort, with Craig Hillary putting together twelve tons, and there was eleven more plundered by Tyler Borthwick.


Paul Hendy's 180 for the defeated hosts made it three in the game, whilst stablemate David Johns powered in a 75 finish that was the best of his team's efforts.



Hillary paired well with Simon Wilbraham nail put away 601 points after throwing just 21 darts before the duo, and the onslaught of excellence continued into the singles phase.


Dare put up a 16 darter in his 3-1 win before Hillary notched his solitary leg in a 3-1 reversal with the help of a 107 checkout, whilst a 3-0 success for Borthwick contained a leg in 14.



Glenn Halford fired fourteen visits of a ton or more but still inexplicably found himself on the wrong side of a 6-5 loss as Bluebird A were downed by Legends Lounge B.


Both Andy Malinowski and Simon Stevenson reached ten tons for the victors, with the former hitting one of the four maximums on his way to that total.



Their teammate Shaun Dring made it two 180s, whilst Halford joined Lee Roberts in achieving that particular feat for the home team.


Dale Halford showed his class at the business end of legs with a 100 checkout that proved crucial in deciding the destination of his 3-2 individual triumph.



Thirteen ton plusses rained down from the arm of Lee Hellings, which led reigning champions Cherry Tree A to a 9-2 win at Ker St A.


Andy Bates and Fred Goldsmith both netted eleven ton hauls, with the former adding a maximum to his night's work.



The second trebles saw Mark Yeoman take out a 96 kill, whilst Hellings and Bates both bagged 17 darters in their 3-0 singles wins.


Cameron O'Brien was a thirteen ton hitter for Cherry Tree C to help them get over the line by a 7-4 scoreline at Duchy A.



Nathan Langdon provided a decent supporting role for O'Brien with twelve ton plusses, including his side's only maximum.


AJ Brunton top scored for the defeated team with thirteen three figure visits that included three second maximum of the contest.



Brunton also fired a 105 three dart combination outshot that was matched by Dave Hollow, whilst Langdon provided the best leg of 501 with a 17 darter in a 3-2 loss to Brunton.


Dave Matthews made it to twelve tons, which gave Raffles B the platform to take a 6-5 win from their home match with Fawn A.



Reg Matthews top scored for the visitors with a ten ton haul, whilst teammates Dave Roberts and Mark Hempsall both added 180s to the contest.


78 finishes for Matthews and Mike Nancholas were only bettered by a 100 from Harry Bull, who contributed points to leave the scoreline tied at 5-5 going into the last singles.



Danny Bull was the hero of the hour as he won a last leg decider 3-2 that was one of six ties to be decided by a solitary chalk mark.


Cherry Tree D's 8-3 win over Steampacket was built on twelve tons Nick Bryant threw in the contest that saw the 180s shared between the two teams.



Bryant's teammate Dave Lee fired one three treble visit with the other coming from Kayleigh Adams for the defeated team.


Keith Carter nestled eleven three figure visits, whilst Phil Hoyle also played a part in Bryant's supporting cast with ten scores of a ton or more.



Hoyle and Bryant also dominated the headlines at the business end with their respective 103 and 101 checkouts.


Bryant also helped himself to a leg in 17 darts, which ticked his 3-1 win over the line, whilst Dave Lee's 13 darter got him over the line in a 3-2 win against Nick Miller, who bagged a 16 dart leg.
