Simon Washington walked away from the Indian Inn with the Charlie Mitchell Memorial title after a brilliant display of darting prowess at the Stoke village venue.

Dave Wyatt snuck past Stuart Couling in the opening game 3-2 before Washington dispatched Glenn Halford 3-0.


Paul Freeman was a 3-1 winner, and next came Simon Wilbraham, who took out 114 in a 3-0 success against Andy Bond.

Robbie Aitken survived an 18 darter from Alan Rowe in his 3-1 win, whilst Andrew Cook (26.37) looked up for a title tilt in his 3-0 win that contained two legs in 18 darts.


Scott Cook (27.83) withstood a 180 from opponent Phil Taylor in his 3-0 success that saw legs tumble in 15 and 17 darts.

Completing the last 16 phase was Danny Bull, who netted a 115 kill and a 180 on his way to an emphatic 3-0 triumph.


Andrew Cook (27.33) returned to end the hopes of Dave Wyatt thanks to 16 and 18 darters, as well as a maximum.

Bull's 3-0 triumph came with the help of another 17 darter before Scott Cook put his name into the last four hat with a 3-1 victory.


Washington then edged out Wilbraham 3-2 with a clutch 17 darter ending his opponent's run before dispatching Bull by the same scoreline thanks to a 90 three dart out.

Legs of 18, 18, and 17 from Scott Cook gave him the brotherly bragging rights over Andrew Cook in a 3-1 turnaround.


Washington (26.38) showed his class in the final to take the trophy with a 3-0 success that contained another leg in 17.
