St Johnston A Open Up Division C Lead

Sharon Jeavons and her St Johnston A team continued their excellent start to life in the Plymouth Open League Division C as Jeavons put away another big finish; this time an 86 combination outshot.



The team also now hold an early six point lead in the title race after a 10-1 win over Stoke Inn which saw them drop just three legs in the trouncing.


Jeavons teammate, Kevin Evans, was also prominent for the Keyham club as he added his name to the 180 column in a fine doubles win.



St Johnston B are second in the standings as they just about got over the line in their trip to Weston Mill by a 6-5 scoreline.


Matt Bateman's 85 checkout was the highest of the match before Tom Jeavons held his nerve in a final tie decider to take the match for his team with a 2-0 win.


Ker St D got their first win of the campaign with a 7-4 away win at Jolly Miller whilst Queens Dock doubled their league points total with a 9-2 home win against Falstaff B.



In Division B, Victory recovered from 5-3 down to snatch a 6-5 win thanks to Mark Williams 2-0 win the last tie of the night against his old team Railway.


George Mills finished well from 88 in one visit for the victors whilst Neil White notched a maximum in his 2-0 singles win.



Weston Mill Oak Villa lead the way in the standings after their 7-4 win over Fortescue that saw Jordan Angear notch a fine 96 checkout for the defeated team.


King Billy B and Prince Maurice both got their seasons up and running with 8-3 and 7-4 first wins of the campaign over Duchy and Cherry Tree A respectively.


King Billy A made it three wins from three outings in Division A as the team hit twenty-eight of the forty ton plusses scored between the two teams.



Lee Doncaster was in good form with six ton plusses in two legs of 501 in the individual phase that the Devonport marksman won 2-0.


After making a disappointing start, Cherry Tree B got their first win and moved into second spot with an 11-0 whitewash of Shakespeare.



Nick Bryant finished in one visit from 96 as his St Levans team continued their unbeaten start to the new season with a 7-4 win over Ker St B.


Lugger maintained their three point gap to the top with an 8-3 win in their visit to Falstaff A in which they reeled off six of the first seven ties before sharing the rest of the individual games.
