The Daley Express

Simon Washington added Octagon's only maximum in a 13-0 win over Lugger which also saw Steve Daley chalk up the highest checkout of the week with a fine 112 in the Plymouth & District Friday Darts League.

Reigning champions Tradesmans A won a hard fought game against Mainstone 8-5 on the night with Mike O'Brien (25.67) putting in a high class 39 dart 1001 singles leg.

That effort, plus a 96 checkout from Nick Dodd, were all chalked off because the Stonehouse team fielded an ineligible player; causing them to cede all thirteen points on offer.

The Devonport derby between Ker St B and neighbours Queen & Constitution ended in a 7-6 win for the Ker St who turned around deficits of 2-0 and 4-3 to win 7-6.

Three maximums were plundered in the contest with David Young firing for the home side and Robbie Bisgrove joining teammate Martin Dean in also achieving the feat for the victors.

Ker St A suffered a 12-1 home defeat at the hands of Pennycross whilst Brewery Tap lead the way in the league after a 12-1 win over Tradesmans B put them top of the pile after eight games played.

Mark Hatherley top scored with twelve ton plusses but found himself on the wrong end of a 9-4 defeat for Indian Inn against Kings Tamerton.

John Brownlow bagged the only maximum for the triumphant visitors whilst Hatherley's stablemate, Kev Marlow, checked 87 in one visit to the board.

Queens Arms ended their visit to Grenville with a double figures 10-3 win in which Dave Jarvis (24.41) won his 1001 singles in an admirable 41 darts.

Victory were defeated 7-6 by a spirited and rejuvenated King Billy team that had both Andrew Nation and Matt Abbott in top form.

Nation reached double figures in tons whilst Abbott bagged the only maximum of the contest and a brilliant 83 checkout, which was the highest recorded of the contest.

The Victory were at a precarious 6-4 down before Kieran Burns (25.67) took out the least number of darts for the week with a fine 39 dart 1001 singles.

Glyn Wells then won his game with five of his ten ton haul to take the game to 6-6 before Ant Pearn got the job done in the final leg of the match to give the Devonport team the win.
