The Edge Of Glory

Chris Edgecombe set a new record for the highest checkout of the Legends Lounge Premier League season with a 156 during a 7-1 success over Dave Ryde in Premier League 1.

Ryde himself fired a maximum in that defeat whilst Edgecombe's other outing of the night saw Lewis Byrne fire a 180 of his own in a 7-4 win over the out shot hero.

Ryde had earlier in the night picked up a win over Warren Page by a 7-2 score line whilst Dean Richards was victorious over James Ewing 7-5 to close the gap on Richie Noel.

That Ryde win coupled with a 7-6 success for Ewing over Noel means that there is just three points separating the bottom three of Richards, Noel and Ryde.

Ewing climbed away from that battle with those twelve points but only made it thirteen over the three games he played after suffering a 7-1 loss to Tom Graham.

Page nailed a maximum but still found himself pointless in a 7-0 defeat against Frankie Stout whilst Del Bryce was a 7-5 winner over Reece Day with Bryce's 180 and 116 checkout asserting his dominance.

Jayden Dodd is Premier League 2's new outright leader having played claimed three wins from three starts over the course of the game night.

Dodd hit a maximum in a 7-0 win over Kelly Burkitt before added a 110 checkout to defeat Robbie Aitken 7-2 and narrowly bettered Darren Smith 7-6.

Smith was a 180 hitter in that particular game whilst Burkitt was Smith's victim in his other game as she was on the end of another 7-0 hiding.

Former leader Andrew Cook is still in a good place despite losing his first game of the season to Dan Jewell by a 7-6 score line.

A 113 checkout and a maximum wasn't enough to give Cook the win but the Cornwall man is only eight points behind Dodd despite having played two less.

That win puts Jewell four back from Cook in third on the same number of games played whilst Mark Williams is also in good position to potentially pounce on slips by the top three.

Williams was a 7-2 winner over Adam Hill and followed this with a 7-5 success over Aitken to leave Williams fourth just one back from Jewell in a nervy race.

Nathan Langdon was a 7-0 winner over Joshua James thanks in part to his 180 whilst James suffered the same 7-0 turnaround against Nick Miller.

Steve Mills claimed a 7-1 success over Nick Cordrey who served up James' third loss of the night with a 7-2 turnaround.

Those two points put James level with Burkitt in the race for the unwanted wooden spoon whilst Simon Wilbraham ended his night fourteen points better off than when it started.

Both Wilbraham and opponent Dan Giles offered up a 180 in a 7-6 win for the former whilst Wilbraham was triumphant 7-1 over Liam Taylor.
