Tradesmans Parade To Premier Title

Another 11-0 success for runaway leaders Tradesmans, this week's victims being Bluebird B, leaves the Monday Premier League title race all but done dusted as the Stonehouse team now holds a thirty-six point lead.

Mike O'Brien top scored with fourteen ton plusses whilst the next best was Andy Bates with thirteen three figure scores.

John Mann added eleven to the mammoth sixty three ton team total whilst Jaden Whitting became the fourth player to reach double figures with ten.

Three of those tons were 180s as Bates and Whitting joined teammate Shaun Dring in adding one each whilst Mann's high checkout of 116 also contributed to that mammoth haul.

Mann's (27.83) 3-0 singles success came with the help of a 15 darter whilst Mike O'Brien added legs of 14 and 18 in his 3-1 triumph.

There was three more 18 dart legs during the contest as Bates added a brace of efforts and Dring popped up with one of his own.

Dring also paired with Mann for a 19 dart 601 game but all of that was usurped by a truly brilliant 11 dart leg from Whitting in his 3-0 victory.

The only noteworthy contribution from the defeated Compton side came in the form of a maximum from Dale Halford.

Fourteen tons, including the game's only maximum, from Jack McMinn helped Bluebird A get over the line with a 6-5 success over Union Inn, which came down to the very last leg of the match.

Such was the form of McMinn, he managed to win his singles 3-1 against Andy Bond who threw the highest checkout of the week, a 156 three dart combination, against the Bluebird marksman.

Nathan Langdon helped keep the Plympton based side in the match with eleven tons during a period in which Langdon's team came from 4-2 down to level 5-5.

Alan Masters won the match for his team with a crucial 118 checkout in the deciding game that went to all five legs; Masters ending the game by reaching ten tons for his evening's work.

Andrew Cook bagged himself twelve tons and a pair of 18 dart legs in a 3-0 win for King Billy but couldn't arrest his team's slide to an 8-3 defeat at home to Victory A.

A finish of 116, as well as a pair of 106 checkouts, accented Cook's total but the highest of that trio was beaten by a 118 from the Honicknowle side's Darren Collis.

Collis' teammate Tony Tasker also contributed heavily to the win with a 106 checkout on his way to ten tons whilst the only maximum of the evening came from Ryan Harris.

A 7-4 win for Octagon A over Indian Inn saw Simon Washington top score with eleven ton plusses; one of four players to reach that tally.

Teammates Lee Hellings and Jayden Dodd also managed ten each; the former doing so with the help of a 116 checkout.

As the score line suggests, the contest wasn't all one way traffic with Danny Bull reaching ten tons and hitting the game's only maximum, whilst Lee Wyatt also claimed a decent finish of 99.

Dave Lee reached ten tons during the Cherry Tree B's 7-4 away win at Octagon B with teammate Marc Webber hitting a 92 finish and the match's only 180.

A 16 dart leg from Scott Cook, as well as 180s from Cook and Sean Taylor, were the main highlights of an 8-3 success for Victory B over Brewery Tap.
