Status quo at top of Monday Premier Lge

THE top two teams in the Monday Premier League remain six points apart after they were the only sides to win in double figures when both securing 10-1 victories.

Unbeaten leaders Maritime A won away at Brookside B while second placed Porters A also won on the road when visiting Ford Hotel.

Firkin Scholar emerged 9-2 winners away at Steam Packet B but Quinton Taylor impressed for the hosts when top scoring with 13 throws of a ton or more which included outshots of 116 and 126.

Prince Maurice B were unlucky not to pick up their second success of the campaign when they were edged out 6-5 by City Social while The Bluebird defeated Steam Packet A 8-3.

Indian Inn A overcame Prince Maurice A 7-4 with Mike Whatley (100x14) once again as their talisman and in winning his singles 3-1, inflicted a first defeat of the season on Glenn Halford.

MAXIMUM MAN: Andy Bates hit three 180s in Porters B's victory at Octagon, bringing his season's tally to 17 from 15 matches.

Shakespeare were 9-2 winners when hosting Indian B and received good service from Rich Coombs (29.47) who emerged a 3-0 winner in 16, 20 and 15.

Porters B returned from Octagon Social Club with a 7-4 victory and had Andy Bates taking out a 14-dart leg before going on to clinch his singles 3-1.

He also top scored with 14 ton plus throws which included three maximum scores to bring his season’s tally of 180s to 17 from 15 matches.

Brookside A won 7-4 on their visit to Maritime B and received good service from Keelan Kay (100x15).

The 15-yer-old won his singles 3-0, finishing a 15-dart leg with a kill of 118 and recorded the week’s highest checkout with a mark of 130.

Also on target were: Dan Jewell (124), Mike Whatley (120), Rich Coombes (118), Kieran Burns (118), Mike Connell (114), Teresa Brookshaw (101), Paul Palmer (100).
