Maria is knocking on the door for England call-up
WHAT more does Maria O’Brien have to do in order to be picked for England?
She produced another epic performance yesterday, competing for Devon in the premier division of the British Inter County Championships and in winning 3-0 in 20, 18 and 13, she achieved a stunning single dart average of 29.47.
That average was not only good enough to win her the lady-of-the-match award, but it was the best average by any other lady player in the British Isles.
LEADING LADY: Maria O'Brien is leading the way at the top of the British Inter County Championships performance table with the best average of 26.37 after her four victories.
The stats show that she is the best lady player in the country at the moment and tops the table with a 26.37 average from her four victories.
Her county team mate Merryl Dennis, has also had a brilliant start to the current campaign and is in third place on 22.63.
The two Devon players are separated by the three-times lady world champion, Anastasia Dobromyslova (25.33), who co-incidentally, was on the opposing side yesterday.
O’Brien has already qualified for the 2018 World Championships to be held at The Lakeside in January and an eye-catching performance there, would hopefully guarantee her that much coveted England call-up.
