Convincing wins for leading quartet in 501 Top 20

THE top four teams in the Porters Function Room 501 Top 20 League all achieved convincing victories, with all but the leaders winning in double figures.

However, tabletoppers Porters Patriots achieved a 9-2 success when hosting Falstaff to maintain their big advantage over the chasing pack.

John Mann top scored with 15 throws of a ton or more and was well supported by Andy Bates who notched 13, which included a brace of 180s.

Maritime Musketeers took all available points against Waterloo Inn while Plympton Cons remain in the mix following a 10-1 victory against Fawn A.

EYE-CATCHING: Chrissie Kinnaird caught the eye for Kings Arms when she emerged a 3-1

winner in 17, 18 and 16.

City Social secured all but one of the 11 points that were on offer against Duchy of Cornwall with Maria O’Brien finishing a 15-dart leg with an out shot of 118.

The BDO World finalist did not have it all her own way though as a gallant Jodie Hawton pushed her the full five legs before being edged out 3-2.

Fawn B were 6-5 winners against Maritime Marauders and registered no fewer than 58 throws of a ton or more.

Fred Goldsmith (100x15) top scored and won the decisive sixth point and well supported by Harry Harrision (100x13) and Matt Legge (100x13).

Maritime Misfits defeated Kings Arms 9-2 and had Dan Scott (26.84) emerging a 3-0 winner in 18, 18 and 20.

Chrissie Kinnaird though for the Oreston side caught the eye when she emerged a 3-1 winner in 17, 18 and 16, hitting 11 ton plus scores over the four legs.

Alex Turner won Kings Arms’ only other point when he claimed his singles in straight legs, which included a win in 15.

Following nine straight defeats, Compton Social Club opened their account with a 6-5 success against Brewery Tap while Brookside won 8-3 at Torpoint Cons, for whom Neil Reid hit three scores of 180.

Porters Pretenders defeated Indian Inn 7-4 in a high-scoring encounter that produced 97 ton plus scores.

In the best contest of the match, Paul Gavican (100x14), aided by two legs in 18, edged out Scott Wapshott (100x15) 3-2, whose two games were both won in 17.
