The Staddy enhance title chances with whitewash

THE Staddy enhanced their Plymouth City Super League title chances with an 11-0 drubbing of Victoria Inn, a victory that now puts them just a point behind the leaders but with the advantage of a game in hand.

The highlight of the match was a doubles victory in 32 darts (31.28) for Warren Gordon and Simon Kelly.

Dartsworld remain in the hunt for honours after they also achieved maximum points at Devonport neighbours Ker St Social Club.

The fixture produced five maximum scores, two of which were recorded by Simon Stevenson.

PROWESS: Mike Beard showed his finishing prowess when achieving outshots of 108 and 132

in Porters 8-3 victory against Marititme A.

A total of five 180s was also achieved in Octagon’s 9-2 victory against Compton Social Club for whom Geoff Norman was the visitor’s only winner, when enhancing a 3-1 victory with a leg in 15.

St Levan Inn shot into a 3-0 lead when hosting Porters A, but had to be content at the end with a 6-5 victory while Hyde Park Social Club defeated Clifton B 9-2.

Current league leaders Porters B won 8-3 away at Maritime A and had Mike Beard showing his finishing prowess when hitting checkouts of 108 and 132.

Phil Hoyle caught the eye for the hosts and was their leading marksman with 12 throws of a ton or more.

There was double celebration for the two Plympton Cons sides who both won against their Oreston rivals.

Plympton Cons B came from behind to inflict a 7-4 defeat on Kings Arms A while Cons A triumphed 8-3 over Kings Arms B in a well contested fixture that saw five of the six singles go the full distance.

Ships Tavern were 8-3 winners on their visit to The Albermarle and had Dave Johns registering the week’s top checkout with a mark of 136.
