Outstanding Hutchinson performance in Maritime win
SCOTT Hutchinson earned the plaudits with an impeccable performance that inspired Maritime A to a 10-1 victory in the Monday Premier League against Octagon Social Club.
The fixture, produced no fewer than eight maximum scores, three of which were recorded by Hutchinson who also achieved a 2-1 double’s win with partner Billy Evans, taking the decisive 601 leg in 17 before going on to a 3-0 singles victory in 15, 16 and 21 (28.90).
He also top scored with 13 throws of a ton or more which included an outshot of 116.
Porters A are just four points behind in second spot following their 11-0 whitewash of Steam Packet A.

John Mann and Kevin Lofthouse won their 601 doubles in two straight legs, aided by a win in 20 before Lofthouse emerged a 3-0 singles winner, aided by finishes of 105 and 107.
Lewis Dare also caught the eye when winning 3-2 in 15, 17 and 19 and achieving the week’s highest checkout with a kill of 156.
Glen Halford (100x12) top scored as Prince Maurice A defeated their stablemates 10-1 while also winning by the same scoreline were Brookside A on their visit to City Social.
Scott Lawrey (100x12) top scored for the Honicknowle side while Gary Phillips won 3-1 and hit two maximums in a 12-dart leg.
Mark Hatherley (100x13) impressed for Firkin Scholar as they secured all but one of the 11 points that were on offer away at Indian Inn B while Indian Inn A took all available points away at Ford Hotel.
Steam Packet B won 9-2 after hosting Maritime B while Porters B triumphed 8-3 away at Bluebird and had Andy Bates notching another maximum, bringing his total for the season to 22 from as many matches.
Shakespeare Hotel, who will be changing their home venue in the next fixture to the Railway Inn Devonport, won 8-3 away at Brookside B, inspired by a good performance from Rich Coombs who top-scored with 15 throws of a ton or more which included an outshot of 106.
