Porters B put a dent in stablemate's title aspirations

PORTERS B belied their league position when they faced leaders and stablemates Porters A and rallied to the cause before going down by the odd game of 11.

The well contested fixture produced five maximum scores and the A side had John Mann (28.90) winning his singles 3-0 in 16, 17 and 19.

Best for Porters B was Andy Bates who won 3-0 aided by a leg in 15.

For the second week running, Steam Packet B won in double figures when restricting City Social to a single point, the highlight being a 21-dart 601 doubles leg for Neil White and Steve Plumley.

BEST OUTSHOT: Teresa Brookshaw was Indian B's only singles success which was cemented with the week's highest outshot of 157.

Brookside A won 7-4 on their visit to Prince Maurice A, the same winning scoreline that was also achieved by Firkin Scholar away to Maritime B.

Scholar moved 4-0 ahead which included a doubles leg in 18 for Mark Hatherley and Brian Lumsdon and although the hosts levelled at 4-4, Scholar clinched victory with the last three singles.

Paul Palmer (100x14) won his individual game by the odd leg in five, which included a win in 15 as Maritime A returned from Bluebird with a 7-4 success.

Indian Inn A also won 7-4 when they hosted Steam Packet A and they had Charlie Mitchell on target with finishes of 106 and 116.

The week’s highest outshot was a mark of 157 achieved by Teresa Brookshaw who was Indian B’s only individual winner in the team’s 8-3 defeat away at Brookside B.

Other notable outshots from across the boards were achieved by: Mark Hatherley (139), Tony Tasker (124), Andy Bates (120, 100), Brian Lumsdon (120), Paul Palmer (111), Ant Pearn (106).
