KTCC press on and are the only top three team to win

ONLY one of the leading trio achieved a victory in the latest round of matches from the Plymouth and District Friday League and that honour went to Kings Tamerton CC when they edged out Royal Naval Arms A, in a competitive fixture.

Trailing 6-4, the Keyham side took two on the bounce to bring the sides level at 6-6, only for Simon Godfrey to clinch the decisive 13th point for victory when finishing at the first opportunity.

Third placed Indian Inn A were defeated 9-4 by Brewery Tap A who had Jodie Hawton winning a solid singles game and finishing at the first time of asking from 102.

Porters and City Social A both won by a 12-1 margin against Royal Naval Arms B and Indian Inn respectively while Waterloo emerged 8-5 winners at Brewery Tap B.

Dinky Diner B secured the last three singles to overcome City Social C 8-5 while The Tradesmans took all but one of the 13 points that were on offer when they hosted Railway Inn.

Mark Shears (100x13) caught the eye as Windmill’s leading marksman before they went down 7-6 against Steam Packet.

The highlight of the match was a 34-dart doubles success for Matt Thompson (pictured left) and Neal Hotchkiss (29.44), in which Thompson hit four scores of 140.

Kevin Evans threw the week’s top checkout when finishing from 115 but finished up on the wrong end of an 8-5 scoreline when Weston Mill Oak Villa were defeated at Pennycross.

Queens Dock made a good recovery against Jolly Miller and came from a 4-0 deficit to win by the odd game of 13.

Mark Sargeant hit two 180’s but his Fawn side lost 8-5 to Dinky Diner A while there were 10-3 victories for both Octagon SC and Brookside against The Office and City Social B.
