Steam Packet B set the pace with two 10-1 victories

STEAM Packet B are the early leaders of the Monday Premier League after following up their 10-1 victory on the opening night with another success by the same winning margin against Bluebird A.

Alec Turner was a 3-2 winner, aided by a leg in 14, while the solitary point gained by the visitors was an impressive 3-0 success for Rob Thorning (100x14).

Indian Inn A are one of only eight teams who have won two matches on the bounce following their 7-4 success away at Octagon B.

EXCELLENT: Fourteen-year-old Cleo Trelease finished a 22-dart 601 doubles leg with an excellent checkout of 141 which inspired her Brookside B team to an 8-3 victory at Indian Inn B.

Mike Whatley emerged a 3-0 winner, aided by a 15-darter while for the hosts, Paul Barclay was on target with two maximums and Alfie Ford (100x16) top scored.

Bluebird B opened their account when defeating Steam Packet A 7-4 and were buoyed by a good performance from Stewart Roberts who, in winning his singles 3-1, hit two maximums in a 14-dart leg.

Paul Gavican (100x14) was prominent for Brewery Tap as they restricted Plympton Cons to a single point while Firkin Scholar and Octagon A both won 7-4 against Hyde Park and The Tradesman respectively.

Jordan Grimshaw was on target with a brace of 180s but ended up on the wrong end of a 10-1 scoreline when City Social were beaten by Maritime Social Club.

Brookside B returned from Indian Inn B with an 8-3 victory, the highlight being a 2-0 doubles victory for Cleo Trelease and Phil Hoskin after they took the opening 601 leg in 22 darts which Trelease finished with an outshot of 141.

The week’s highest checkout was achieved by Mike Miller (100x13) while inspiring Porters A to an 8-3 win against Prince Maurice A.

The marksman took out a kill of 160 to win his doubles game and then emerged a 3-2 winner in the singles, aided by a leg in 15.
