Joint leaders now at top of Monday Premier League

MARITIME Social Club defeated Steam Packet A 10-1 in the Monday Premier League and have moved up the table to share the lead with Steam Packet B, who defeated City Social 9-2.

Quinton Taylor was the star player for Packet B, emerging a 3-0 winner in 19, 16 and 18 for a 28.38 average.

Prince Maurice A were edged out 6-5 on their visit to The Tradesman but not before Glenn Halford (below) earned the plaudits with an eye-catching performance.

The marksman emerged a 3-0 winner in 17, 15 and 19, posting a single dart average of 29.47 and he also set a new mark for the season’s top checkout when he finished the 15-darter with a kill of 164.

Gary Whittles (100x14) emerged a 3-0 winner for The Tradesman, aided by a 15-dart leg while Paul Tackle (100x14) was also prominent.

Andy Bond (100x13) caught the eye when inspiring Plympton Cons to an 8-3 success away at Prince Maurice B while Brookside B won by the narrowest of margins on their visit to Hyde Park.

Two solid performances from Mike Miller (100x12) and Matt Ansell (100x11) laid the foundations for Porters A to inflict on their stablemates Porters B a 10-1 defeat while in a much closer encounter, Indian Inn B earned their first win of the campaign when edging out Octagon B 6-5.

Indian secured three of the last four singles to earn their victory, which included a 3-1 win for Gavin Ellis (100x14).

Mike Whatley (100x16) top scored, and Danny Bull was on target with two maximums, but the duo could not prevent Indian Inn A going down to their first defeat when they lost by the narrowest of margins at Brewery Tap, for whom Pete James secured the 11th and decisive point.

An outshot of 132 by Brun Jeavons in a 3-2 singles success was the highlight of Firkin Scholar’s 6-5 victory away at Bluebird B while Cherry Tree restricted Ford Hotel to just a single point which was claimed by James Taylor in the singles.

Darren Collis (100x16) top scored for Brookside A in their 8-3 defeat of Octagon A for whom Lee Hellings emerged a 3-0 winner, aided by a leg in 15.
