Robbie provides highlight as Patriots go top

PORTERS Patriots are the new leaders of the Porters Function Room 501 Top 20 League after they secured all but one of the 11 points that were on offer when hosting Indian Inn.

The winners had Robbie Bisgrove (pictured below) providing the highlight of the match when he set a new mark for the season’s highest checkout when finishing with an outshot of 167.

Maritime Marauders achieved a 7-4 victory away at Falstaff with Mike Pearce (100x14) as their leading marksman but now have to settle for second spot after losing their place at the top of the table.

Stew Roberts, for the hosts, emerged a 3-0 winner, aided by a leg in 14 and team mate Lewis Dare hit two maximums.

Glyn Wells (100x13) top scored for Brewery Tap in their 7-4 success away at Cherry Tree, the same winning scoreline that was also achieved by Maritime Musketeers against visitors Duchy of Cornwall.

Lee Agar (100x11) was prominent for the Musketeers and secured a 3-1 singles win, aided by a leg in 15.

The Office overcame Victory B 8-3 while Kings Arms were the week’s biggest winners, picking up maximum points from their visit to Waterloo, claiming the six singles with loss of just one leg.

Another win in double figures was achieved by Victory Inn A when they defeated Compton 10-1 and had Scott Lawrey notching three maximums, two coming in a 3-0 singles success.

Octagon Social Club defeated Maritime Nutters 9-2 while Porters Pretenders won 8-3 away at Fawn B in a high scoring match that saw 108 throws of a ton or more recorded, seven of which were 180s.

Mark Shears (100x16) top scored for the visitors while Fawn’s Fred Goldmsith (100x13) emerged a 3-0 individual winner with his best leg being claimed in 13.

Maritime Governors were in a rich vein of form when hosting Fawn A and hit 64 scores of a ton or more before winning 9-2.

Keelan Kay (27.83) won 3-0 in 19, 17 and 18, top scored with 100x14 and was well supported by Danny Allen (100x13) and Jason Pinkerton (100x13).
