Purple patch continues for Hayman with 38.5 average
ANTONY Hayman has produced some outstanding performances in recent weeks within the Plymouth darts leagues and his most recent exploit has seen him set a new mark for the season’s best game in the Plymouth and District Friday League.
Inspiring Brewery Tap A to a 10-3 victory against Bull and Bush, the marksman (pictured below) won his 1001 singles in 26, for a 38.5 single-dart average and top scored with 13 throws of a ton or more which included three maximums.
Kings Tamerton CC consolidated their position at the top of the table when winning 13-0 away at City Social C, one of five teams to win in double figures and had Richard Lynch (30.33) catching the eye when winning his singles in 33 darts.
Second placed Royal Naval Arms A defeated Octagon 11-2 with Luke Johnson (34.52) impressing in the singles with a win in 29 and Andy Bates (100x14) finishing as their leading marksman.
Queens Dock came from behind and won the last four singles to defeat Royal Naval Arms B 8-5 while The Tradesman and Railway both won 12-1 against Brewery Tap B and City Social B respectively.
Dinky Diner A overcame The Windmill 9-4, the same winning scoreline that was also achieved by Steam Packet away at Indian Inn B.
Matt Thompson (100x13) was Packet’s top scorer while Mark Hatherley (100x12) replied for the hosts.
A singles success in 38 for Jamie Sandford (26.34) put Porters 7-2 up when hosting Dinky Diner B, but that was the last point that they won as the visitors rallied to take the last four and go down by the narrowest of margins.
Weston Mill Oak Villa won 9-4 against The Fawn and Pennycross SC overcame Victory 8-5 while in a close encounter at Mainstone SC, the home side had Ryan Parker winning the 13th and decisive point for a 7-6 victory against Indian Inn A.
The Stoke side did have Paul Gavican claiming the week’s highest checkout with a mark of 110 while also on target were George Beckett (104), Chris Beale (104), Jaydon Dodd (100).
