Victory's advantage cut to five points after rare defeat

VICTORY A have had their lead cut to five points in the Monday Premier League after losing for only the second time in 21 matches.
In a high-scoring fixture that produced 103 throws of a ton or more Steam Packet B edged out the tabletoppers 6-5.
Rob May was a 3-1 winner for the Devonport side aided by a leg in 15 and Victory’s Tony Tasker was also on target with a win in 15 as he secured his singles in three straight legs.
Gary Phillips top scored with 17 throws of a ton or more which included two maximums, his 21st and 22nd of the season.

Maritime defeated Ford Hotel 8-3 and are now just five points off the pace with a game in hand and had Dan Scott emerging a solid singles winner aided by a 15-darter.
A 3-0 individual success for Stew Roberts (26.37) in 21, 14 and 22 was the highlight of Cherry Tree B’s 8-3 win over Bluebird while Victory B defeated Steam Packet A 7-4.
Octagon A won 8-3 away at Prince Maurice B and had Fred Goldsmith winning 3-0, aided by a leg in 15, while an identical winning scoreline was also achieved by City Social on their visit to Hyde Park Social Club.
Porters A are now joint third after they defeated Cherry Tree A 7-4 in a match that saw six 180s recorded.
John Mann (100x13) emerged a 3-1 winner in 14, 15 and 18 while Lewis Dare (100x14) (pictured above) partnered Matt Ansell to a 601 doubles victory which included a leg in 16 and he also threw the week’s top checkout with a mark of 154.
Rich Coombs (100x14) caught the eye for the Pennycross side and finished a 15-dart leg with a kill of 140 before going on to take his singles 3-2.
Adam Searle won the decisive 11th point to give Plympton Cons a win by the narrowest of margins away at Indian Inn A while another close encounter saw Andy Boniface clinch the deciding sixth point to enable Firkin Scholar to edge out Indian Inn B 6-5.
Steve Daley hit two maximums in a 3-1 singles win and Alfie Ford (100x14) top scored as Octagon B defeated Porters B 9-2.
Prince Maurice A won 6-5 away at Brewery Tap with 110 throws of a ton or more recorded with Antony Hayman (100x16) top scoring.
