Kings Tamerton CC take big steps towards league title
THERE was a big shift towards the Plymouth and District Friday League title when the leaders won in double figures and their nearest rivals lost for only the third time in 32 matches.
Kings Tamerton CC secured all but one of the 13 points that were on offer when they hosted Dinky Diner A and are now 23 points ahead of Royal Naval Arms A although the Keyham side do have a game in hand.
They had Andy Bates (27.05) winning his singles in 37 but were eventually defeated 8-5 on their visit to City Social A.

Mark Hatherley (27.81) secured his individual game in 36 as Indian Inn B won 9-4 away at Queens Dock, the same winning scoreline that was also achieved by Victory Inn B, Mainstone Social Club and City Social C.
The Windmill returned to winning ways and inflicted on Queen and Constitution an 8-5 defeat while The Tradesman won 10-3 away at The Fawn.
Indian Inn A were 8-5 winners when hosting Porters, the highlight being a 37-dart doubles victory for Paul Gavican and Tony Birch while Weston Mill Oak Villa also won 8-5 on their visit to Dinky Diner B.
Pennycross Social Club won by the narrowest of margins when hosting City Social B while there was also a 7-6 success for Steam Packet away at Octagon Social Club.
Matt Thompson and Neal Hotchkiss won their doubles game in 33 (30.33) when the former checked out from 110 and Thompson was also prominent in the singles when he won the 13th and decisive point to give Packet their victory.
The bragging rights were won by the A team in the Brewery Tap derby match, when they won 10-3, inspired by Antony Hayman (28.60) who won his singles in 35.
It was not all doom and gloom for Tap B though as Adam Fell (pictured above), their only singles winner, achieved the week’s top checkout with a kill of 129.
Other prominent outshots were achieved by: Jaydon Dodd (118), Ken Lee (117), Mark Hatherley (117), Mikey Tate (109).
