Cresswell's unbeaten singles run ended by Goldsmith

MARC Cresswell now has to share the lead of the singles table with three other players, after losing for the first time in 20 matches in the Plymouth City Super League.
He was defeated in three straight legs by Octagon’s Fred Goldsmith (pictured), who now also shares top spot along with Neil White and Stewart Roberts.
The Staddy eventually won by the narrowest of margins with Dave Algar emerging a 3-2 winner, aided by a leg in 12 and a 3-1 victory for Warren Gordon whose winning legs were all won in 18.

Maritime A have a lead of three points after inflicting on Cherry Tree an 11-0 whitewash while second placed Porters, who had John Mann (100x12) top scoring, won 9-2 away at Compton Social Club.
The Tradesman won by the odd game in 11 when they visited The Albemarle and received good service from Paul Bowen who emerged a 3-0 winner with his best legs coming in 15 and 18.
Ker St Social Club were another side to win by the narrowest of margins away at The Clifton while The Fawn were 6-5 winners when hosting Victoria.
Despite leading 3-1, Fawn were taken to 5-5 before Dan Bunney clinched the decisive point by a 3-0 margin.
Marc Mills (100x12) caught the eye when he top-scored in Plympton Cons B’s 7-4 success away at Kings Arms A while in another close encounter, Bluebird edged out Kings Arms B 6-5.
The Oreston side did have some consolation though when Paul Carpenter’s checkout of 120 was not bettered.
Plympton Cons A defeated Maritime C 8-3 and had Dave Collins winning 3-0, aided by legs in 13 and 17 while Steve Brocklesby and Kelvin Rowe (34.52) gelled well in their doubles which was taken in 29 darts.
Phil Hoyle (100x13) was consistent throughout for Maritime B in their 10-1 win away at St Levan Inn and the home side had Anna Johnson saving the whitewash with an impressive 3-0 singles success.
Three-figure outshots were achieved by: Alfie Ford (102), Cameron Pickard (101), Paul Bowen (100), Fred Goldsmith (100).
