Billy Boyz Cook-ing

King Billy and Victory A served up a classic in terms of scoring in the Steve Chapman 501 League with one hundred and thirty-four ton plusses raining down onto the board.

Andrew Cook was the most prominent marksman amongst the duodectet with sixteen three figure scores that included two of the six maximums in a 10-1 win for the Devonport side over the home Honicknowle outfit.

George Jones was a fifteen ton man in a run that was accented by his 115 checkout whilst teammate Frankie Stout battled his way to eleven tons.

Stout's tally was topped up by his team's third maximum whilst the fourth was plundered by Scott Cook whilst Aaron Crocker was also in good nick with ten tons of his own.

The final member of the victor's roster to make to ten tons was Reece Day whilst the match result might've been one sided, but the scoring phase of play was certainly not.

Paddy Archibald and Scott Lawrey both added fifteen three figure scores whilst Kelvin Rowe ended his team's heavy loss with eleven ton plusses.

The best of Rowe's total was a 180 with teammate Paul Goundry adding the sixth maximum of the game that exploded into life during the singles phase.

Andrew Cook was a 3-1 winner thanks in part to a 15 dart leg of his own before Lawrey and Crocker served up some world class tungsten.

Lawrey won two 15 dart legs but Crocker ran out a 3-2 winner with legs of 18, 18 and 17 proving to be Lawrey's undoing.

Rowe won his only leg in 14 darts against Jones who checked in 16 during his 3-1 success before Scott Cook finished his night a 3-0 winner with the help of a leg in 18.

Thirteen tons from Lee Hellings led Cherry Tree C to a famous win over reigning champions Fawn B in a 7-4 success.

The achievement by the Pennycross team cannot be understated when you consider they've inflicted the Greenbank outfit's second loss in eight starts this season after having only fell to defeat once last campaign.

Despite ending on the wrong side of the defeat, John Mann still had time to put thirteen tons of his own onto the scoreboard.

Jaden Whitting was a twelve ton hitter along with Lee Agar wholst Simon Washington ended his night on ten tons overall.

Washington plundered two maximums to Whitting's one whilst the reigning champions did make the score line respectable in a fine set of individuals after going 5-0 down after the team phase.

A 14 darter from Washington in his 3-1 win was one of two as Hellings added 14 and 17 darters in a 3-2 loss to Mann.

Mike Pearce's ten tons overall included two maximums during St Levans 7-4 win over Indian Inn for whom Ian Heggie also added ten tons of his own.

Pearce's tally of two maximums was added to by teammate Harry MacGregor's solitary effort whilst Mark Hatherley was the only member of the Stoke village team to hear '180' called.

Of all thirty-four checkouts put away by the twelve competitors, Anna Pearce's 108 three dart combination proved to be the highest finish of all.

Luke Beard fired ten tons for Cherry Tree A that proved the difference as his side defeated Octagon by a 6-5 score line.

Beard's teammate James Ewing added a 126 checkout that proved to not only be the best checkout of the match, but also took the highest finish of the week across all fixtures.

As the score suggests, it wasn't all one way traffic with Chris Edgecombe contributing with a maximum and Robbie Bisgrove firing an 18 darter during his 3-0 win.

Jack McMinn provided the catalyst for a 10-1 success by Bluebird in their visit to Ivybridge CC with ten three figure scores.

McMinn's teammate Alan Masters also finished his evening on ten scores of a ton or more but it was McMinn that rightly stole the headlines from this matchup.

McMinn's ton tally was ticked over to that total by two maximums whilst McMinn (30.06) nailed legs in 14 and 16 darts for a remarkable individual average in his 3-0 triumph.

Kevin Lofthouse's ten tons did the damage for Cherry Tree D in a 7-4 win that contained a 76 checkout by John Hawton for the defeated Duchy.

At the other end of the age spectrum, Paul Tackle showed that there's little substitute for experience with a 17 darter in his 3-1 success.

Jason Pinkerton's maximum was the only moment of magic for Cherry Tree B in their 9-2 success at Kings Arms that leaves them six clear in the early season standings.
