Billy Kings In Superleague

The King Billy have edged ahead of their title rivals in the Plymouth City Superleague after a 10-1 trouncing of third placed Bluebird A.


Antony Hayman (26.84) was the Billy Boys' top performer with a maximum, ten ton plusses, 15 and 17 dart legs, and the highest checkout of the match of 72 for a week high 5.9 individual ranking points.



Teammate Andy Bates also fired in a 180 with Glenn Austin scoring one of his own for the visitors, and Jason Pinkerton continued his good form with a 17 dart leg.


Victory A are now a point behind but have opened up a fourteen point lead over the rest after a 9-2 win over their Victory stablemates, the B team.


Quinton Taylor top scored with eleven three figure scores, one of which was a 122 checkout and Mark Shears (27.33) also plundered tons in double figures with one of those being a maximum that helped him to legs of 17.16 and 21 darts.



Alex Truscott was the only B team player to chalk up anything of note with a maximum of his own in a tough night against one of the favourites for the title.

The other Victory team continued their climb up the table with a solid 8-3 win over the Fawn A.


Lewis Dare was at his imperious best with two 14 dart legs, both of which were helped towards in no small part by his thirteen tons and 180 for the match.


This haul gave Dare 5.9 individual ranking points for the night.



Paddy Archibald was also prominent for the victors with a 99 kill and a 15 dart leg with Scott Cook also racking up a maximum.


The one shining light for the beaten away team was Simon Stevenson's fourteen three figure scores as he continued his own personal unbeaten start to the season.


A point further back are the Kings B who made it five wins from six starts with a 10-1 win over a depleted St Levans.


Dave Johns took the highest checkout spoils with a 90 finish and his teammate Paul Carpenter notched a second maximum of the season.


The Steampacket continued their unbeaten start to the new campaign with a routine 8-3 win over the Cherry Tree with Matt Thompson top scoring with eleven tons.



Despite the defeat, Bob Wood showed his prowess with an 82 checkout; the highest in this game.


The Colebrook returned from their visit to Fawn B with ten more points added to their total with Adam Searle (13xTs), Darren Smith (12xTs) and Steve Hiscox (10xTs) all prominent for the visitors.


The one highlight for the home side was Matt Anderson's 94 finish as his Greenbank side suffered a fifth defeat from six matches so far.


Raffles climbed the table to a much more respectable position in the league after just a second win of the campaign; a 9-2 win over Hyde Park Social Club.


Talented father and son duo, Harry and Danny Bull, were the star men for the Mutley team with the former chalking up a phenomenal fifteen three figure scores.



One of these was a maximum which aided the maintenance of his personal unbeaten record with six wins from six in his debut Superleague season.


The elder of the two secured the highest checkout of the week with a fine 151 finish, one of eleven three figure scores.


There was 7-4 wins for Plymstock based duo Victoria and Kings A over the Clifton and Ker Street respectively.


Devon's Chrissie Kinnaird racked up tons in double figures including a fine 104 finish for the Kings whilst Gary Eaton and Mick Bingham were on form for the Victoria with a 96 checkout and a maximum.
