Billy The Kings In Monday Premier Trebles

King Billy B's Ant Pearn, Scott Cook and Paddy Archibald strung together three wins to take the victor's prize in the Monday Premier League trebles competition held at St Levans.



The evening started with Colebrook trio of Andy Bond, Dan Giles and Zak Smith defeating Cherry Tree A's Paul Freeman, Gary Clarke and Andy Stinchcombe 2-0 before the winners' stayed on in the first quarter final.


The Colebrook threesome then ended the hopes of Dave Lee, Marc Webber and Kev Doel of the Cherry Tree B 2-0 to book a semi final spot.



Three games with three teams from the same pub ensued as Octagon B representatives Steve Daley, Chris Edgecombe and Paul Barclay met their teammates in the first.


Edgecombe's 110 checkout won one of the legs in the 2-0 success over Dave Wyatt, Steve Jones and Harry Wyatt before King Billy B met their King Billy A counter parts.



A Scott Cook maximum helped the B team overcome Andrew Cook, Alec Turner and Antony Hayman by a 2-1 score line before Octagon A finished off the hopes of a third Octagon B team.


Paul Palmer, Paul Hendy and Sean Burkitt downed Dave Pethick, Ryan Ring and Bill Rennie 2-1 to setup a meeting with King Billy B.



Palmer fired the highest checkout of the night with a 148 combination and Burkitt added a 180 but the duo still found themselves out at the last four stage as King Billy B progressed to the finale 2-1.


In the second semi, Giles fired a third maximum of the night overall as Colebrook made up the final two with a 2-1 success over the final Octagon B team in the event.



A 100 checkout from Ant Pearn set his Devonport team well on their way to a 2-0 triumph over the Colebrook side to take the winner's cheque.
