Burns Form Fires 'Billy Boyz' To Big Win
Kieran Burns fired a brilliant thirteen tons during an 11-2 success for King Billy in their Plymouth and District Friday Darts League visit to local Devonport rivals Ker St A.
Burns total was accented by the only maximum of the game, which puts him on nineteen in just twenty-five outings this season.
Jayden Dodd claimed both ten tons and the least number of darts prize as Tradesmans A took a massive step to claiming another league title after their 13-0 win over Pennycross.
Dodd (31.28) put away his 1001 individual game in just 32 darts, which is the joint third best game of the season so far.
Dodd's teammate Andy Waters gave the Stonehouse team double the prize money after throwing a 100 checkout that was the best put up in all seven fixtures played.
That result, coupled with more dropped points for Kings Tamerton in their 11-2 win over Indian Inn leaves the former with an almost impossible ten point gap to surmount if they're going to claim the title for themselves.
Richard Lynch did all he could in the win by putting his team's only maximum onto the scoreboard whilst Gareth Hocking replied in kind with one of his own.
Jamie Sandford (29.44) was in majestic form with a 34 dart leg, a maximum and a high checkout of 84 in Grenville's 7-6 win over Octagon.
That aforementioned leg bettered a 38 darter from Steve Marker and Lewis Byrne (26.34) in Tradesmans B's 7-6 triumph over Legends Lounge.
The best finish of that particular game also came from the arm of Marker who nailed 80 at the first time of asking.
Shaun Williams checkout of 88 was the only moment of magic for third placed Victory Inn during their 10-3 win at Mainstone whilst Cherry Tree claimed a third triumph of the season with a 7-6 win over Ker St B.
Ryan Parker was the man of the moment for the Pennycross outfit as he won the final rubber of the night with the scores tied at 6-6.
