Fred Strikes Gold In Tradesmans Win

Tradesmans' victory parade in the Monday Premier League shows no signs of reducing in momentum as they whitewashed another team 11-0; this week's victims were Brewery Tap.

Fred Goldsmith was the undoubted star of the show with fourteen three figure scores whilst the next best came from Shaun Dring with twelve.

Both Jaden Whitting and Andy Bates added eleven to the scoreboard whilst John Mann's ten ticked the team total over to a remarkable sixty-six three figure scores for the evening.

Mann's (29.47) 3-0 singles win was put away in just 46 darts as Mann followed up an 18 dart opener with legs of 15 and 13 darts.

Dring (27.54) was almost as clinical in his 3-1 triumph as 16 and 17 darters rounded off a superb individual display.

Whitting and Bates weren't content with playing bit parts in the individual party as they also managed 16 and 17 dart legs respectively in their 3-1 wins.

Thirteen tons from George Beckett lit up Cherry Tree B's entertaining 6-5 defeat to Bluebird A, which came down to a final leg shootout.

Despite Beckett hitting his opponent, Jack McMinn, with legs of 13 and 18 darts, McMinn would run out a 3-2 victor in that deciding leg.

McMinn's twelve ton total on the night was accented by one of three maximums in the matchup as teammate Shaune Kittle fired one and Marc Webber replied with the Pennycross side's only effort.

New Devon cap Kayleigh Adams was another shining light for the defeated team as she nailed a 124 checkout in her 3-2 win that was crucially decided by an 18 dart leg.

Scott Cook led Victory A to a 10-1 success over Octagon B with two maximums on his way to twelve ton plusses for the evening.

Cook was also the hitter of one of three legs in 15 darts as he joined teammates Paul Gavican and Paul Goundry in achieving that particular feat.

Paddy Archibald was also impressive in his singles game with legs of 17 and 18 darts getting the better of Ryan Ring who fired a 180 riposte in vain.

Ant Pearn was also in good form as he added a 79 checkout to his maximum, which was a third for his team and a fourth overall between the two teams.

Glenn Halford top scored for Bluebird C as they defeated B Victory A 7-4 as Halford was well supported by teammate Glenn Austin who reached ten tons including the game's only maximum.

Halford's finishing was also of the highest calibre as he put away finishes of 104 and 105, as well as a leg in 15 in his 3-0 win.

Richard Wheatley's eleven tons for the Honicknowle team put up some resistance to the Compton side's march; as did Darren Collis who won a leg in 17 in a 3-0 win.

Steve Towl banged in twelve tons but still found himself on the wrong end of a 7-4 defeat as Union Inn were downed in their trip to Indian Inn.

The Stoke Village team hit the lion's share of three maximums as Danny Bull and Alec Turner threw an effort each, with Nick Furneaux replying in kind.

Towl's 3-1 impressive win over Bull came with the help of legs in 15 and 18 darts, which helped make the score line more respectable in the final tie of the match.

Paul Freeman's eleven ton contribution and an 18 darter during his 3-2 individual defeat helped Cherry Tree A to a 7-4 win over Bluebird B.

Simon Washington proved once again why he is becoming one of the most feared competitors in Plymouth during Octagon A's 7-4 win against King Billy.

Washington's singles was won 3-0 with legs of 16 and 18 whilst teammate Lee Hellings matched the 16 dart feat in his win by the same score line.

Matt Chegwin defeated Dave Pethick 3-1 as both players notched a leg in 18 with Andrew Cook and Alfie Ford both repeating a leg in six completed visits to the board in their 3-1 and 3-0 successes.
