Handy Andy Once Again Lighting Up P&D League

Andy Bates' (28.60) latest stint in the Plymouth and District Friday Darts League started off with a 35 dart 1001 leg in an 8-5 win for leaders Tradesmans A over King Billy.

Bates threw his team's only maximum in that particular win whilst teammate Paul Nash's 72 checkout gave the Stonehouse side a rare double of the least number of darts and highest checkout for the week.

Kieran Burns was by far the best competitor for the defeated team with ten tons whilst Ben Webb put a maximum onto the scoreboard in his singles win.

David Young and Nick Bromley's (27.05) 37 dart 1001 leg was the best of a 9-4 win for Indian Inn at home to Pennycross.

There was a 38 dart leg a piece in the Stonehouse derby match between neighbours Tradesmans B and Octagon; the victory going to the latter by an 8-5 score line.

The first came from Steve Marker (26.34) who checked his singles in 38 before Simon Washington (26.34) repeated the feat for the victors.

Marker put two maximums onto the scoreboard for his team with Washington and his teammate Steve Jones replying in kind to make it a quartet between the two teams.

Roy Osgood's maximum was the only noteworthy contribution from Mainstone who were the week's biggest winners in an 11-2 win over Cherry Tree.

Ker St B put their stablemates Ker St A to the sword in a derby match that ended 10-3 whilst Falstaff were 8-5 winners in their home tie with Grenville.
