Harry Slotter And The Ton-Flood Prince

Raffles' young starlet, Harry Bull, continues to impress in the Plymouth City Super League after his heroic seventeen tons in the Mutley team's 7-4 win over Kings Arms A.

Bull (26.37) was breath-taking in all disciplines; winning his singles 3-0 with ten tons and a best leg of 17 darts whilst Pete Down's 78 checkout provided the Oreston side's best moment of the game.

The Kings stablemates, the Kings Arms B, edged Cherry Tree 6-5 with Dave Johns' twelve tons providing the main catalyst behind that success.

Johns was the only player from his team to hear "180" announced after one of his throws in a 3-1 win that also contained a leg in 14 darts.

Rick Trinder provided the other three treble visit of the match for the defeated visitors whilst teammate Steve Mills continued his recent spell of good form with ten tons including a 126 game high checkout.

Dave Roberts' twelve tons helped Fawn A pushed leaders Octagon all the way but ultimately became the Stonehouse team's twenty-eighth victims from as many starts; the match ending 7-4 to the latter.

Roberts was well supported by Mark Hempsall who reached ten tons for his evening's work whilst Bill Scannell checked 91 at the very first time of asking to put their team's first point onto the scoreboard.

The best performing player from the title favourite's ranks was Fred Goldsmith with eleven ton plusses whilst teammate Dave Matthews threw two maximums on his way to ten tons.

Neil White (26.36) helped himself to ten tons on the night and picked off one of the three straight legs he won in the singles in just 18 darts.

Matthews added an 18 darter of his own in his 3-2 defeat to Roberts whilst Lee Hellings won his game 3-0 with legs of 15 and 17 darts getting him over the line, after hitting the game's first maximum in a doubles success.

St Levans romped home 10-1 against Duchy B with Tex and Anna - the newly married Mr and Mrs Pearce - at the fore front of the victory as both hit a 180 on the eve of their big day.

Tex Pearce (30.67) seemed eager to complete the match in his singles; winning in 16, 16, and 17 and finishing the night on eleven ton plusses whilst Mark Hopkins reached ten tons overall.

Bluebird A's Glenn Halford reached eleven tons but still found himself on the wrong end of a 6-5 score line as Steampacket claimed the win.

Both Halford and eventual singles opponent George Beckett threw 180s in the first leg of the match before Halford paired with Lee Roberts (27.81) for a 1001 leg in 36.

Phil Taylor's 17 darter was crucial in securing him the first individual rubber of the evening to make it a level game going into the final five ties.

The next three went in the Compton team's favour two to one with Glenn Austin's 180 and Alan Masters 90 finish lead them to 3-0 and 3-1 successes respectively.

With the Devonport team now on the brink of defeat, Beckett needed to beat his more than worthy adversary in Halford to keep the game alive for his team.

And the statistically the league's best player delivered with a pair of 16 darters and a maximum in a 3-1 win that saw Halford check his only triumph with an 86 checkout.

This left Mike Connell to decide the outcome; delivering in empathic fashion with a 3-0 win to give his team the spoils.

Nathan Langdon's threw eleven tons but still saw his high flying Colebrook team surrender a 3-2 lead to fall to a 6-5 defeat against Bluebird B.

Dale Halford was the star of the show for the victors as he put ten tons onto the scoreboard whilst Dave Hollow showed his class for the defeated team.

Hollow provided three moments of magic with a 180 joined by a checkout of 112 and a leg in 17 during a 3-1 win before Dan Hurley's 3-1 win stole the game in the final matchup of the night for his team.

Ten tons from Jack Heath wasn't enough to stop King Billy taking all points on offer in an 11-0 against Duchy A as Paul Goundry (24.63) provided a leg in 18 during a fine 3-0 singles win.

That leg was only bettered by Mark Yeoman's 16 darter in a 3-2 win whilst Scott Wapshott plundered the game's only 180 during his 3-1 triumph.

Ten tons from Scott Cook helped Victory A to a 7-4 success over Clifton as Cook added one of three maximums during the match.

Danny Allen joined Tom James in completing the trio whilst Allen's 100 checkout claimed the honour of the best of the match.

There was also three legs in 18 darts with Allen's sole effort in a 3-1 success joining Cook's pair in a narrow 3-2 defeat.

Those were bettered by Mark Shears who got the put away his opponent 3-0 with the assistance of 16 and 17 dart legs.

The top finish of the week across all fixtures came from Jacob Bentham's 148 kill in an 8-3 defeat for Hyde Park against Saltram.

Bentham's teammate Mike Trim won 3-0 with an 18 darter the best whilst there was a 180 a piece for each team with Frankie Stout joining Lee Dennis in achieving that particular feat.

Lewis Dare (26.37) won a leg in 18 and hit one of four maximums between the teams during a 3-0 win that came in Victory B's 6-5 success over Ker St.

Adam Fell joined his teammate in the 180 column whilst both Ian Heggie and the man that Dare beat, Paul Tackle, providing the retorts for the Devonport team.

Ralph Lancaster also put together an 18 darter in his 3-0 win before Paul Hoare claimed the victory for the Honicknowle side in a 3-1 win with the scores tied at 5-5.

Four 180s also littered Victory C's 8-3 win over Fawn B with Jason Goldsmith and Adam Truscott firing for the victors.

Goldsmith's 3-2 singles win saw him check crucial legs in 17 and 18 darts whilst the 180 hitters for the defeated Greenbank side came in a 3-0 win for Mark Sargeant and a 3-2 success for Mike Bassett.

The critical leg in that particular contest was won in 17 whilst the high checkout was found by Tony Moody with a 105 three dart combination out shot.
