If Anyone Can, Gavi Can

Twelve tons from both Paul Gavican and Paul Goundry gave King Billy B the platform to triumph in the Monday Premier League by a 7-4 score line over Colebrook.



Zak Smith was also a twelve ton hitter but ended on the wrong side of the match result despite winning his individuals 3-0 with 16 and 17 darters his best.


Goundry's brilliant ton tally was propped up by checkouts of 123 and 108 whilst Scott Cook added the only three treble visit of the contest.



Ant Pearn was a third member of the Devonport side to reach double figures in tons as the tail end on his ten ton haul came in a 3-0 success that saw Pearn fire a 17 darter at his opponent.


John Mann's twelve tons provided the ammunition required to push already champions elect Tradesmans to an 11-0 win in their derby win over Octagon B.



Fred Goldsmith's 130 checkout was the highest of four ton plus checkouts as a 120 was checked twice in the match.


Goldsmith's teammate Scott Wapshott added to an effort finished by Dave Pethick for the opposition whilst Simon Washington's 114 combination settled for fourth best against his old team.



Pethick's stablemate Chris Edgcumbe provided his team's only 180 whilst the other in the match went to Jaden Whitting.


That maximum helped Whitting (24.64) to a comfortable 3-0 win whilst Wapshott (26.38) added a 15 darter in his 3-0 success and Washington racked up legs in 17 and 18 in another victory without reply.



The second and third placed teams in the league look to have cancelled out each other's slim chances of mounting a serious title challenge after a marvellous contest that was won 6-5 by Octagon A over Victory.


Eleven tons by Jayden Dodd and Lee Hellings was the biggest total provided by any of the twelve players on display whilst four others made it to ten three figure scores.



Their teammate Paul Palmer was one of that quartet of ten ton hitters whilst Victory's trio of Luke Johnson, Quinton Taylor and Alex Roach all finished on a dectet of ton plus scores.


Alfie Ford was the only player to add a maximum; doing so on two occasions with his first coming in the opening rubber of a high quality contest.



Ford's second came in a 3-2 win over Roach that contained what turned out to be a crucial winning leg in 15 darts, which was the best overall.


Hellings also won in all five legs by a 3-2 score line with the help of an 18 darter whilst Taylor and Johnson were also winners by the odd leg in five.



Taylor's success came with an 18 darter his best whilst Johnson go the better of his opponent thanks in part to a leg in 17.


The best effort over the 601 distance came from Hellings and Palmer (27.32) who dispatched the aforementioned duo 2-0 with both legs coming in 22 darts.



King Billy A were led to a 9-2 success over Cherry Tree A by the eleven tons scored by Andrew Cook in the triumph.


Cook's teammate Antony Hayman fired one of the two maximums in the match with Paul Freeman hitting the other for the home side's only moment of magic in the game overall.



Glenn Austin's ten tons during a 7-4 win for Bluebird B over Cherry Tree B were joined by three distinct moments of brilliance from Glenn Halford.


Halford's 140 checkout was the best of the week's fixtures and was joined by the only maximum of the match, as well as a 17 darter in his 3-0 success.



Harry Bull lit up Indian Inn's 8-3 success over Bluebird A with two 180s and a high checkout of 124, which narrowly bettered a 123 from teammate Pete Cornish.


The other three treble visits were shared between the two sides as Lee Wyatt and Owen Cook both put a solitary effort onto the scoreboard.
