Iron Jaden

Reigning champions Tradesmans kept their 100% record for the start of the new Monday Premier League season thanks in no small to the performance from Jaden Whitting.

Whitting added fourteen scores of a ton or more; a run that included two maximums for his team in a 9-2 success over Victory B.

Whitting was also clinical at the business end of games with his 3-2 individual success made up of legs in just 16 and 17 darts.

The next best ton total came from John Mann who picked up thirteen three figure scores personally whilst Fred Goldsmith made it to ten tons overall personally.

Lee Agar's (27.83) individual performance was the best of the night as he added a pair of 17 darters in a 3-0 success that saw him claim his team's other maximum.

Agar paired with Mann (30.82) for 601 legs of 21 and 19 darts whilst Mann returned in the individual phase to notch a brace of 18 darters in his 3-0 triumph.

Teammate Andy Bates also put a pair of legs in 18 onto the scoreboard but found himself on the wrong end of a 3-2 defeat to Scott Cook.

Cook checked legs in 17 and 15 in the win and added his name to the ton column on the sheet no fewer than eleven times.

Mike O'Brien was also in decent form with a sole leg in 17 during another 3-0 win for the undoubted title favourites.

Glenn Halford scored fourteen ton plusses but still found himself on the wrong side of a 6-5 defeat as King Billy got the better of Bluebird C.

Halford did get the better of Antony Hayman in a 3-1 win that saw him check legs in 16 and 17 darts to get the better of the former county star.

Halford also added a 94 checkout to his evening's work in the match whilst Micky Organ was also prominent with eleven tons and Glenn Austin put ten tons onto the scoreboard.

Scott Wapshott top scored for King Billy with eleven tons as Wapshott added one of three 180s to the scoreboard with Andrew Cook and Hayman providing the others.

A 2-1 win for Hayman and Wapshott over Austin and teammate Tony Teal in the doubles saw both pairs check a 601 leg in just 20 darts.

An 11-0 win for Octagon A over Cherry Tree B which saw Simon Washington produce twelve tons sees the Stonehouse team to the top of the early standings.

A brace of 180s rounded off that mammoth total with Marc Webber providing the Pennycross team's only effort of the night.

The ton plus finish barrier was broken no fewer than five times on the night between the teams; the smallest of which was a noble 108 from Jayden Dodd.

Next highest was a 110 from Dave Pethick whilst Webber provided a 112 kill and Paul Palmer finished 115 at the first time of asking.

All of those were blown into insignificance by a Lee Hellings 160 checkout, which also claimed the joint highest of the week and season so far.

Washington's 3-1 singles win saw him add a leg in 14 whilst Dodd won his match by the same score thanks in part to a 17 datter.

Palmer was almost as clinical in his 3-2 success with a leg in 18 whilst Hellings (26.84) put on a show individual with his best legs coming in 14 and 15.

The evergreen Alfie Ford rounded off the super display with legs of 17 and 18 darts contributing to a win by 3-1 whilst the best over the 601 distance came from Hellings and Dodd in an 18 dart win.

Three fabulous finishes from Victory A were not enough for them to claim a win as Indian Inn triumphed 7-4 in their visit to Honicknowle.

Quinton Taylor added ten tons to the scoreboard with one of those being a 109 checkout and another a maximum.

Tony Conn bettered that effort with a 127, which was only second to a 160 from Taylor who claimed a share of the highest checkout of the season with that effort.

Taylor (28.36) was ruthless in the individual phase with legs of 17 and 12 darts in a 3-0 win whilst Harry Bull was the best for the victorious team.

Bull put eleven scores of a ton or more up with his 3-2 win being accented by his team's only maximum of the occasion.

Mike Whatley produced eleven tons and a 15 darter during Cherry Tree A's 9-2 win over Octagon B that saw three other moments of magic.

Whatley, Matt Chegwin and Steve Daley all showed their class with a 15 darter, 180, and 116 checkout respectively.

Jack McMinn and Alan Masters helped Bluebird A come out with a 7-4 win over Victory C as both players reached ten tons each.

Masters total contained two brilliant finishes with a 100 checkout only being bettered by his own 117 three dart combination outshot.
