Matt Nicholson's eleven tons provided a the catalyst for Cherry Tree A to claim a 6-5 success over Bluebird C with Nicholson and a couple of his teammates clinical at the business end of the win.
Nicholson fired an 18 darter in a 3-2 success, which was bettered by both Paul Freeman and John Goodall who nailed 17 dart legs in their 3-1 and 3-2 triumphs.
Despite losing the war, the Compton side did succeed in the 180 battle with both Glenn Austin and Nigel Bassett hitting a maximum a piece to Gary Clarke's solitary effort for the victors.
