John The Main Mann In Derby Rout

Nineteen tons from John Mann anchored Tradesmans continuing parade to the Monday Premier League title as the Stonehouse outfit defeated third placed Octagon A by as many as 10-1.

It certainly wasn't all a one man mission as Lee Agar was also in blistering form with a fourteen ton plus haul that included a 120 checkout.

That Agar kill was the best checkout in both the match and the week across all fixtures whilst the champions elect also had Fred Goldsmith in good nick with thirteen tons.

Goldsmith's tally included his team's only maximum of the match whilst teammate Scott Wapshott showed his undoubted class with eleven tons overall.

Despite what was an obvious demolition job, Lee Hellings showed good moments all night with fourteen ton plusses for the defeated side who also had Paul Palmer firing their only maximum.

His teammates Jayden Dodd and Alfie Ford also ticked their ton tallies over to the ten mark; the latter checking 116 in a single visit during a 3-1 defeat to Mann.

That rounded off an 18 darter for Ford with Mann retaliating with one of his own to start off a remarkable singles phase of play.

Mike O'Brien was a 3-0 winner thanks in part to the third 18 dart leg of the evening before Agar added legs in 18 and 14 to his marvellous aforementioned checkout in a 3-1 success.

Wapshott then put away his opponent 3-1 with the help of the fourth leg in just six completed visits to the board to round off a stunning performance for the reigning champions.

Scott Cook led King Billy B to a fine 8-3 win at Indian Inn with his fifteen three figure scores dominating the matchup.

Cook was well supported by Paul Gavican who fired ten tons whilst the team's only 180 came from Mark Sleet and the best checkout was put away by Ant Pearn at the first time of asking from 88.

Despite ending on the wrong side of the defeat, Harry Bull still had time to put twelve tons onto the scoreboard for the Stoke village side.

Alec Turner matched thirteen tons by Andrew Cook as the duo led King Billy A to fine 7-4 success over a talented Colebrook.

90 finishes by Turner's teammates Reece Day and Antony Hayman settled for joint second to Dan Giles 110 kill for the defeated side.

Hayman also nailed the only maximum of the match and added a leg in 15 darts during his 3-1 success in the individual phase.

Cook (27.32) showed his consistent best in his 3-0 win with legs of 18 and 17 darts doing the majority of the damage.

For the defeated side, Andy Bond was most consistent in the scoring section of the game with ten three figure scores overall.

Twelve tons by Glenn Halford led Bluebird B to a surprise 7-4 success over second placed Victory; a win that was also supported by two of Halford's teammates.

Tony Teal and Glenn Austin both heard scores of a ton or more called no fewer than ten times whilst Halford's 18 darter in a 3-1 success in the singles was the best mustered by the visitors.

Tony Tasker (30.67) was in blistering form in the singles phase with two maximums that helped tick his own ton tally over to the ten mark.

Tasker's remarkable single dart average during a 3-0 triumph in the singles was helped along by legs in 13 and 17 darts.

The Cherry Tree derby might've ended 8-3 to the A team, but Marc Webber was the dominant force scoring wise with eleven tons for his defeated B team.

Paul Freeman was the main reason by the A side success with ten tons overall for the designated home team for the evening.

Freeman and teammate Nick Coles put together the best leg of 601 with a 20 darter whilst George Beckett was the best competitor in the singles with legs of 17 and 18 darts in his 3-0 victory.

Webber matched his stablemate Beckett's 17 darter in his 3-1 defeat whilst Mark Hopkins checked in 18 darts during his loss by the same score line.

A checkout of 120 was plundered by Steve Daley for Octagon B as they were downed by Bluebird A in the final possible leg of a 6-5 reversal.
