Jordan's Form Grim Reading For Opposition

The precocious Jordan Grimshaw lit up the Plymouth and District Friday Darts League with an empathic thirteen tons in an 8-5 success for Victory over Octagon.

One of those three figure efforts was a 115 ton plus finish that was beaten twice in the match to the high checkout honours; firstly by teammate Shaun Williams who checked 118 in a single visit.

Simon Washington however bested both of those with his 132 finish that was declared as both the highest checkout of the week and season so far; one of a ten ton personal total.

Glyn Wells and Kevin Evans (26.34) were also both in good form for the victors with a 38 dart 1001 doubles game that claimed the best leg of the contest.

All the points on offer were plundered by Tradesmans A in a 13-0 success over Grenville with Andrew Nation providing the main catalyst behind that win with twelve ton plusses.

Nation's blistering scoring form contributed to two excellent legs; the first a 38 dart 1001 in the trebles when Nation teamed with Andrew and Ben Waters (26.34).

The two Andrews then went three darts better as Nation and Waters claimed the least number of darts for the match with a 35 dart doubles for Nation and Waters (28.60).

For the second week in a row, the imperious Kieran Burns (30.33) produced a 33 dart 1001 leg for King Billy in an 8-5 win over Pennycross.

After ploughing in 720 points in the first nine visits to the board, the remarkable young talent, Burns, added a 180 followed by a 101 checkout in three darts to complete the brilliant leg.

Dave Young's (24.41) 41 dart 1001 leg was one of few highlights for Indian Inn who slipped to a 10-3 defeat against local rivals Stoke Bar & Grill who inserted themselves into second place with that success.

There was two maximums in Ker St A's 13-0 defeat at the hands of Tradesmans B with Steve Marker's effort replied to by Dave Jones for the Devonport side.

John Brownlow fired the only maximum of a routine 12-1 win for Kings Tamerton at home to Ker St B who are the only side still looking for a first win of the campaign.

Royal Naval Arms second win of the season was by a the rather large margin of 12-1 triumph in their home match against Cherry Tree.
