Lee-tting The Good Times Roll

Lee Hellings (30.06) produced a stunning 3-0 individual phase win for Plymouth City Super League Division A runaway leaders Octagon in a 10-1 win over Cherry Tree A.

Hellings netted himself legs in 17, 18 and 15 darts and bagged his team's only maximum in that fire cracker of a singles game.

Hellings ended that game as the top scoring player with eleven tons overall and was well supported by Neil White all night who put on ten tons of his own.

A spark was lit in the first doubles game as Andy Bates and Fred Goldsmith put together a 21 dart 601 leg to go alongside a 100 checkout from the former in a 2-1 triumph.

Hellings teamed with Alfie Ford to bag a 22 darter over the same distance in a 2-0 victory whilst White and Paul Palmer's leg in 21 proved crucial in deciding their 2-1 success.

Palmer then continued his strong form in the individual phase with a leg in 16 darts coming in a 3-0 triumph before Dave Lee got the away side's only point of the contest.

A leg in 18 darts was accompanied by an 86 checkout in a 3-1 win that also saw Lee put on his team's only three treble visit.

Hellings stunned onlookers with his form before Ford added legs in 17 and 18 darts during a 3-0 triump to continue the barrage of world class darts.

Goldsmith was a 3-1 winner despite Melvyn German's 90 combination out shot before White rounded off the evening with a solid 3-1 triumph.

Mike Whatley plundered scores of a ton or more no fewer than eighteen times to lead Indian B to a win over Bluebird A by a 7-4 score line.

One of that barrage of three figure efforts came in the form of one of the four maximums in the match with teammate Tom James joining that particular party.

Dale Halford added a 180 for the defeated team whilst Glenn Austin put on the final three treble visit on his way to eleven tons overall.

Whatley was supported well in the victory with twelve scores of a ton or more by teammate Scott Cook who also nailed a 15 dart leg in a 3-1 individual loss.

Scott Wapshott's 124 checkout towered above every finish in the match with Tony Teal's 104 combination settling for second best.

A Luke Johnson master class in the scoring phase yielded fourteen tons, a haul that included one of the three maximums in a 7-4 defeat for his Steampacket team against Kings Arms B.

The other maximums in the contest both went to Paul Carpenter for the victorious away side whilst teammate Dave Johns was the main aggressor thirteen three figure scores.

Johns was amply supported by Simon Kelly who nailed eleven scores of a ton or more whilst Carpenter's heroics didn't stop with the 180s.

A 109 combination out shot gave him far and away the best finish of the match whilst Kelly's 3-0 singles win was accented his 3-0 individual triumph.

Thirteen scores of a ton or more from Lee Doncaster proved decisive for King Billy as they came away with a 6-5 triumph at Cherry Tree C.

Doncaster's 180 was one of three maximums nailed in the match as teammate Antony Hayman added to a solitary effort from Dan Jewell for the defeated team.

Jewell also notched an 86 checkout that was bettered twice by the opposition as Alec Turner's 100 kill settled for second best to Tony Tasker's 116 combination.

Jewell's teammate Nathan Langdon found his scoring boots with twelve tons overall whilst there was a number of short legs in the individual phase for the victorious Devonport outfit.

Hayman was a 3-0 winner in the individuals thanks in part to two legs in 14 darts before Doncaster nailed a leg in 18 during his 3-1 success and Tasker found a 15 darter in a 3-1 loss.

Simon Stevenson's latest return to the Clifton ended with his Cornwall Gate claiming an 8-3 win and Stevenson being the protagonist with his power scoring.

Stevenson's thirteen tons narrowly bettered twelve more from Wayne Town for the defeated team whilst Stevenson was supported well by teammates Andy Malinowski and Matt Vosper.

Both added eleven tons apiece with Vosper's tally ticked over to that undectet mark with the game's only maximum.

At the business end of legs, the best checkouts came from Niall McGarvey and Dan Bunney with an 80 for the latter besting the former's 76.

Malinowski started the individual phase off with a 3-1 win that contained a leg in 16 before Stevenson's 3-0 triumph which saw him nail a 17 darter.

Col Maddocks also heard 'game shot' called after throwing the same 17 darts as Stevenson during his 3-1 win that rounded off a great night for the team.

Indian A ended on the wrong side of an 8-3 loss against Ker St despite Mark Hatherley's best efforts with twelve ton plusses.

Hatherley joined forces with Leighton Wilson well in the doubles phase to put away a 601 leg in just 18 darts, which came after the best checkout of the match.

Hatherley's teammate Lisa Hellings put together a three dart combination of 99 which was three points extra than the 96 provided from the arm of Roger Bailey.

Bailey also added one of the three maximums in the match during a 3-2 singles win with the others coming from teammate Ian Heggie and Wilson with his team's solitary three treble visit.

Danny Bull was unlucky to end with a 3-2 defeat in his individual game with Heggie after chalking up a 17 dart leg.
