Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Carrolls

Forty-six ton plusses were shared between Lugger and St Levans in a 7-4 win for the Devonport team that saw Logan Carroll be his team's top performer during the Division A clash of the Plymouth Open League.



Carroll added a maximum and a 97 checkout whilst Wayne Davis was also prominent for the defeated team with a maximum of his own.


Carroll's finish was beaten twice by the Keyham team with Stan Preen and Nick Bryant hitting out shots of 100 and 115 respectively.



A Dave Jones 180 was the main highlight as Mainstone took an 8-3 win from their trip to Shakespeare to give them a first win of the campaign.


Cherry Tree B took an 8-3 win over Ker St B to give themselves a six point lead in Division A with Kieran Harris and Rob Edmonds both performing well.



Harris added the only maximum of the match whilst Edmonds 91 checkout was the highest across all eleven ties played during a good evening for the title challengers.


Falstaff A won 7-4 in their visit to Ker St C with one of the forty-two ton plusses coming from an Alan Jewell 126 checkout for the victors.



There was also a maximum for each team with Jewell's teammate Dave Jarvis adding to a Robbie Bisgrove effort in the first leg of the match.


John Nixon produced a brilliant 118 checkout in a 10-1 win for leaders St Johnston A in a 10-1 win over Ker St D during a Division C clash.



The Keyham team now hold a fourteen point lead over Queens Dock who were downed by Half Moon's second win of the campaign; a 7-4 success.


Jolly Miller returned from their trip to Falstaff B with an 8-3 victory whilst Weston Mill made it two wins from four starts with a 9-2 success at Stoke Inn.



In Division B, St Johnston C made it five wins from five starts with a hard fought 8-3 win over Ker St A that saw both Martin Dean and Jonathan Easterbrook hit a maximum a piece for either side.


Roger Bailey's 107 checkout for the Devonport side was superseded by a 130 three dart combination from the Keyham team's Kevin Hilcoop.



Rob Wills added a 123 checkout in Duchy's 7-4 win over Prince Maurice who also had Libby Lockwood hitting a brilliant 103 finish during the contest.


Neil White and Quinton Taylor were in top form for the Victory with the former hitting a maximum and the latter a 105 checkout in an 8-3 win over King Billy B.



Russell Hitchcock was the hero of the hour for Fortescue who fought back from 3-1 down to take a 6-5 win over Railway with Hitchcock winning the final tie of the match with the scores locked at 5-5.
