Maria, You've Got To See Her!

Maria O'Brien produced a remarkable sixteen ton plusses for the Victory D as they got their second Steve Chapman 501 League success of the season with a 7-4 win over Indian.

O'Brien's 3-1 individual triumph came with the help of 15 and 17 darters as well as one of her team's two maximums; Chris Beale with the other.

The other efforts came from players playing for the Stoke village outfit as both Louis Yates and Kev Marlow hit 180s, whilst Ian Heggie showed his continued good form with eleven tons.

Simon Washington top scored with a magnificent fifteen ton plus haul as his Kings Arms side came away from their visit to Octagon with an 8-3 success.

Teammate Paul Palmer was also in majestic form as he claimed two maximums and a checkout of 144 during the match; a trio of efforts that aided him to a ten ton haul.

Palmer paired with Colin Sloman for a 601 leg in just 21 darts that helped them to a 2-1 success during that phase of play.

Dave Algar was arguably the best singles players as he won well with the help of a brace of 18 dart legs and a maximum on his way to a 3-0 triumph.

Jayden Dodd was Octagon's best performer as he checked a leg in three from 132 when on his way to ten tons for the evening.

Mike Pearce bagged himself no fewer than four maximums in a pulsating 8-3 defeat for his St Levans team against Victory A.

That quartet added to a superb fourteen ton haul for the Devon star who also managed a 29.84 average in his 3-1 singles win; with winning legs coming in 16, 14 and 16.

Pearce also paired with brother Tex Pearce to win a 601 doubles game 2-0 in just 20 and 18 darts for a superb 31.63 single dart average.

One of those fine legs was checked with a 146 checkout from Tex Pearce, which claimed the week's highest finish overall across all fixtures in the league.

That also defeated a 130 from Quinton Taylor in his 3-0 success as teammates Richard Wheatley and Paddy Archibald both chalked up 180s of their own during the match.

Archibald added nine more tons to complete his ten ton haul that was only bettered on his team by Kelvin Rowe's eleven three figure scores.

Rowe added a brace of 18 darters in a 3-1 individual win whilst Wheatley finished one leg in 17 during his 3-0 triumph.

Another marksman to reach ten tons for his evening's work was Tony Tasker who enjoyed a fine outing for the victors.

King Billy made it five wins from as many starts with a 10-1 win over Bar Mez that saw Andrew Cook reach thirteen tons plusses.

Cook added a game high checkout of 120 and a maximum to that total whilst also winning his singles 3-1 thanks to legs of 17, 16 and 15 darts.

Antony Hayman (26.37) managed twelve tons and also added a 15 darter in his 3-0 win; a feat that was only usurped by Alec Turner's 14 darter in his 3-1 success; with a leg in 16 following.

Scott Wapshott scored his team's second 180 of the matchup whilst Paul Tackle added one for the defeated visitors from Cornwall.

Tony Conn was the sole player to reach ten tons for the Victory Hammers in their 7-4 win over Duchy Of Cornwall as teammate James King checked 78 in one visit.

Leaders Victory C defeated bottom side Firkin Doghouse 11-0 as both Paul Gavican and Mark Shears reached ten three figure scores for the evening.

Gavican's 15 darter in his 3-0 win beat Shears' effort in 16 during his win in three straight legs whilst Jason Pinkerton checked from 108 in three during another whitewashed singles game.

Tom James' 180 was the only maximum of the contest which came in the very first leg of the match; allowing the Honicknowle team to set their stall out early on.

Fawn B whitewashed their A team stablemates in the Fawn derby 11-0 as Andy Bates and Lee Agar both hit maximums and Fred Goldsmith added a 100 checkout.

Bates and Agar both added 17 darters in their 3-0 singles wins whilst Jaden Whitting checked a leg in 16 during his triumph by the same score line.

John Mann matched that 16 darter and added a leg in 15 to go with it as the Greenbank team really laid down their title credentials.
