Richard The Two Thirds

Two of the three maximums in Lugger A's 7-4 Plymouth Open League win over Fortescue came from the arm of Richard Wheatley with Jordan Angear providing the Mutley outfit's only three treble visit.

An 84 checkout by Frankie Stout helped title chasing Victory finally get over the line at Cherry Tree B in the very last possible leg of a 6-5 win.

Stout won his singles rubber 2-1 to take a win whilst Stout's checkout was the only effort to better a 70 by Nick Miller, whose team have severely dented the away side's hopes of lifting the Division A championship.

That result, coupled with a 9-2 win for Beacon Park against Prince Maurice, means that the leaders need just four points to be certain of clinching the title when the top two clash on the last day.

In this particular match, Phil Hoyle fired a 114 checkout for the best of all seventeen checkouts in the contest whilst Andy Barlow put up a maximum for the defeated team.

Keith Walton's 108 three dart combination out wasn't enough to stop Weston Mill Oak Villa from falling to Falstaff A 6-5.

Dave Jarvis was the Southway side's steady pair of hands in the final individual game that was won 2-0 after the teams could not be separated in the first ten ties.

Melvyn German won the winning point 2-0 for his Ker St C side on the final game of a 6-5 success whilst St Johnston A were 9-2 winners at Weston Mill.

In Division B, Ben Russell fired the only maximum of a 6-5 defeat for King Billy B that went down to the final possible leg won by Mark Lashbrook 2-1 with the scores tied at 5-5 going into the eleventh and final game.

Bill Scannell's 108 checkout for Fawn couldn't arrest their slide to an 8-3 defeat away at Lugger B, for whom Keith Johnson added an 84 checkout.

Pennycross were 6-5 winners over Mainstone A whilst Duchy were downed 8-3 by Falstaff B, St Levans were 7-4 winners over Ker St B and Prince Maurice FC also won 7-4 at home against King Billy A.
