Scoring Phase Simple For Simon

Simon Stevenson continues to dominate Plymouth City Super League's Division B as he recorded a remarkable nineteen three figure scores in a 7-4 win for leaders Cornwall Gates over Hyde Park.

The cherry on top of Stevenson's mammoth haul was a 101 checkout and one of the four maximums plundered by the two sides.

Teammates Mark Turner and Col Maddocks added a 180 each whilst the only effort garnered by the visitors was from the arm of Bob Wood.

That Wood effort was one of eleven three figure scores he put onto the scoreboard as the standout player in the match overall.

Another eleven ton hitter was Stevenson's teammate Andy Malinowski whilst Lewis Dare also added ten tons for his evening's work.

In the singles phase, Stevenson put up legs in 11 and 15 darts in his 3-0 success whilst Lewis Dare triumphed by the same score line with a 17 dart leg his best.

Lee Soper's eleven tons were joined by Paul Freeman's 180 and an 81 checkout from Steve Williams in a 7-4 win for Williams' Victoria away at Kings Tamerton.

Mike Sant's ten tons couldn't arrest Kings Arms A's slide to a 9-2 defeat in their visit to title chasing Ker St; for whom the evergreen Ralph Lancaster checked 80 in a single visit.

Three maximums lit up Clifton's 8-3 win over Cherry Tree B with Logan Carroll and Paul Hoare adding to a solitary effort from Wayne Davis.

A 17 darter from Dan Jewell during his 3-0 individual triumph was the best recorded leg of 501 during the heavy win for the Greenbank side.

Mark Langdon picked up the league's highest checkout with a fine 126 kill over the in form Fawn B who made it four wins from five with a 7-4 away win.

Matt Anderson's 90 checkout was the Greenbank side's only contribution of note, which aided him to an individual success of three straight legs without loss.

A 76 checkout for John Sturdy narrowly bettered a 68 from Hayley Brant in St Levans 8-3 success over Duchy B whilst the A team were also defeated by faired slightly better.

In the A league, Octagon and Legends Lounge played out an absolute classic that featured a truly incredible one hundred and thirty-two ton plusses as the Stonehouse champions got the better of their title rivals 7-4.

Neil White led the way with fifteen three figure scores whilst Lee Hellings added fourteen tons and John Mann put thirteen onto the scoreboard.

Fred Goldsmith was also prominent for the leaders with eleven tons whilst, as the score line suggests, it wasn't all one way traffic with a quartet from the defeated side also contributing heavily to the mammoth ton tally.

Scott Cook and Dan Brazier top scored for the St Budeaux outfit with fourteen three figure scores whilst Mark Shears ended his evening on eleven tons and Scott Wapshott completed a ten ton haul.

Cook's three maximums overshadowed solitary efforts from White and teammate Dave Matthews whilst the highest checkout of the affair was a modest but respectable 82 from Paul Gavican.

White kicked off the individual phase with a 3-2 triumph over Cook that contained winning legs of 15, 16 and 17 darts.

Mann was defeated 3-1 as Wapshott got the better of his current Cornwall county teammate despite Mann checking his winning leg in 16.

Matthews added an 18 darter in his 3-1 defeat to Gavican before Hellings legs in 16 and 18 darts helped him get one over on Brazier 3-1 after the latter had checked in 17 darts.

Cherry Tree A were the week's biggest winners as they triumphed 11-0 in a game dominated by Dave Lee's fourteen scores of a ton or more.

James Hughes was also a heavy contributor with ten tons whilst a leg in 17 by Nick Miller during his 3-0 individual success was the best mustered by the twelve arrowsmiths on display.

Harry Bull put on something like his best performance as he put fourteen three figures scores onto the sheet, but still found himself on the defeated side as Indian were downed by Colebrook 8-3.

The highest checkout honours were shared within the Bull family as Harry and Grandad Eddie Bull both heard 'game shot' called after throwing 118.

Darren Smith's individual performance at the tail end of the win provided the icing on top as he checked a leg in 14 darts and added the game's only maximum during his 3-1 individual triumph.

Kings B were led to an 8-3 win over Bluebird B by the scoring of Dave Johns who added two maximums to his personally ton tally of eleven three figure scores.

Johns' teammate Paul Carpenter fired a 115 three dart combination out shot whilst the other 180s were all provided by the defeated side.

That pair were attributed to the duo of Dale Halford and Jon Parsons who both heard '180' called after throwing.

Lee Lagor heard scores of a ton or more called no fewer than ten times but still found himself on the wrong end of a 6-5 defeat as Victory were downed by Fawn A.

Lagor's leg in 17 came in a 3-2 individual defeat whilst the highlight of the affair for the victors was a Bill Scannell 115 checkout.

The highest checkout across both divisions came from the arm of Tony Teal who plundered 127 in a single visit during Bluebird A's 7-4 win over Steampacket.

To go alongside Teal's magnificent feat, there was two 16 dart legs in the match as Glenn Halford's effort in a 3-0 triumph was matched by Marc Webber during his win by a 3-1 score line.
