Simon Anything But Simple

Simon Washington (31.28) continued his dominant form in the 1001 format and the Plymouth & District Friday Darts league with eleven tons, including a 180, as well as a 32 dart 1001 singles leg.

That leg was one of twelve won by Octagon in a success over Ker St A who took their solitary point from Al Jones' individual game with an 80 checkout.

Arguably the most action packed affair of the week came between leaders Tradesmans A and Queens Arms; the former taking a 9-4 away success.

Dave Jarvis top scored for the defeated home side with eleven ton plusses whilst one of the four points won by the Tamerton Foliot outfit came from a Steve Harris 72 checkout.

That checkout was usurped three times as teammate Alan Jewell finished from 100 in a single visit and Tradesmans' had Mike Hill and Jayden Dodd finished 97 and 102 respectively.

Dodd's (27.81) high checkout of the contest finished off a 36 dart 1001 singles game that beat a 38 dart leg from teammate Mike O'Brien (26.34).

Both players reached ten tons for the evening whilst the only maximum of the contest was nailed to the wall by Andrew Waters.

Rob May threw the highest checkout of the week with a 151 in Tradesmans B's 7-6 defeat to Indian Inn whilst Kings Tamerton took a 9-4 win from their visit to Mainstone and Brewery Tap demolished Lugger 12-1.

Robbie Bisgrove hit one of four maximums between the two sides in the Ker St B's Devonport derby match with King Billy, which finished 10-3 to the latter.

Bisgrove's effort came in a 33 dart 1001 doubles game with Deb Trethawan that yielded a brilliant 30.33 single dart average.

Matt Abbott produced a brace of 180s for the victors, which was added to by Andrew Nation whilst the high checkout honours went to a fine Ryan Ring 119 three dart combination in the final leg of the match.

Shaun Williams continued his recent spate of good form when pairing with teammate Andy Downton (26.34) to take their 1001 doubles game in 38 darts.

Another highlight of Williams' Victory side's 9-4 success against Pennycross came in the form of a 79 checkout; the highest recorded during the contest.

David Young's (25.03) well cobbled together 40 dart 1001 leg was the main highlight of an 11-2 for Queen & Constitution over Grenville, who themselves had Jamie Sandford providing a maximum.
