The Champion of Champions darts competition is now taking entries for its 40th anniversary edition of the tournament, with Simon Stevenson looking to become the first winner three years in a row.

After becoming the first man to claim the trophy six times in 2023, Stevenson swept the field again in 2024 to win the title for a seventh time, whilst becoming only the fourth player to secure back-to-back triumphs.

The annual charity competition this year is raising money for Spring Intensive Care, which is a charity dedicated specifically to the ICU wards at Derriford Hospital.

The event means more to us this year as my wife, Sandie Cook, spent 81 days in Penrose ICU after suffering from multiple life-threatening illnesses earlier in the year.

The main competition will begin on Sunday, 12th October, with the last 64 and 32 stages played on Sunday, 23rd November.

The ladies' event will be played on Sunday, 7th December, as reigning champion Heather Toney is due to defend her title on the same day as the grand final's night, both played at the Victory Inn.

If you would like to enter, please visit www.plymouthdarts.org.uk/champs and follow on screen instructions to donate to the cause.

We hope the event will attract a bumper amount of money raised, so we can give back to an unsung community that gave us a chance of rebuilding our life.
