Stevenson's Rocket Dominates Legends Win

Simon Stevenson (33.40) showed the class that made him a PDC professional in his past as he put together legs of 13, 14, and 18 during a 3-0 win that came in the Plymouth City Super League Division A.

That effort, plus thirteen scores of a ton or more, contributed heavily to an 8-3 win for Legends Lounge B against Falstaff B.

Andy Malinowski was also in good scoring form as he matched Stevenson's thirteen ton tally with one of his own.

Matt Vosper completed the heavy scoring for the victors with eleven tons overall, whilst the top scorer for the defeated party was Dave Lee with ten ton plusses.

The 180s were shared between the two teams as Stevenson and Vosper's solitary efforts were added to by Lee and Nick Bryant.

Vosper's 81 checkout and legs in 12 and 17 darts provided further highlights at the business end of legs, whilst Lee's 3-0 singles success contained a 144 combination outshot.

John Mann (27.33) checked a leg in 17 darts, which came in a 3-0 singles success that provided the main highlight of an 11-0 victory for runaway leaders Raffles Diamonds versus Duchy A.

Mann was one of two players to reach eleven tons as Neil White matched that feat, but both men were outscored by Andy Bates, who ended his night with twelve tons.

AJ Brunton was also a twelve ton hitter for the defeated team as he added his team's only maximum to the five that were put up during the match.

Lee Hellings notched a brace of three treble visits, with both White and Alfie Ford completing the quintet of 180s.

Bates also showed his finishing prowess with an 82 checkout that was only usurped by a 112 checkout from singles opponent Leah Smith.

In that 3-1 triumph, Bates also put together a tidy 17 darter, whilst Ford opened in the individual phase with a 16 dart leg that helped him to a 3-0 triumph.

Hellings bagged a leg in 16 of his own during a 3-1 victory against Brunton, who checked a 17 darter of his own in that loss.

Brunton and Jack Heath fired a leg in 16 darts over the 601 distance, but still found themselves on the wrong side of a 2-1 defeat as Mann and Fred Goldsmith notched a 15 dart leg that proved crucial.

Nathan Langdon put together an eighteen ton combination, which included the only 180 that came during a 10-1 win for Ship's Tavern versus Compton Social.

Langdon's maxi came in a 3-1 singles success, which saw a leg tumble after 15 darts were thrown, whilst Dan Hurley was edged out 3-2 despite nailing a 70 checkout.

That finish was only bettered in the match by Darren Smith's 89 single visit combination that helped keep the scoreline ticking towards a 3-0 individual triumph.

Fifteen three figure visits were attributed to Lewis Dare's name, but he still found himself on the wrong side of a 6-5 loss as Raffles A were downed by Legends Lounge A.

Craig Hillary's twelve ton plus tally was the next best for the defeated, and both Alex Truscott and Tyler Borthwick reached ten tons in vain.

Top scoring for the victors was Reece Mealin, who totalled up twelve scores of a ton or more, whilst all but one of the six 180s were fired by the hosts.

Dare's brace was added to by Borthwick, Truscott and Logan Carroll, and a solitary maximum was provided by Mealin's teammate Sean Burkitt.

Borthwick opened the individual phase with a 3-1 win that contained a 17 darter before Dare checked 18 and 15 darters during a 3-2 loss to Mealin.

The best checkout of the contest was provided by Truscott, who chalked up a 74 single visit combination outshot.

Paul Goundry battered the treble twenty bed in a 10-1 win for Falstaff A over Firkin Scholar as he reached fourteen ton plusses.

One of those efforts was a 124 checkout that played second fiddle to Paddy Archibald's 128 three dart combination.

Scott Cook also showed his scoring prowess with a thirteen ton haul of his own, whilst both of those checkouts were usurped by Archie Borlase's 154 for the defeated team, which contributed to an 18 dart leg.

That effort came against Cook, who also added a leg in 18 during a 3-1 victory, whilst Goundry put together a 16 darter in a 3-2 defeat against Scott Heggie, who completed a ten ton haul at the end of that success.

Other ton plus checkouts came from Goundry's teammate Tony Tasker, who nailed outshots of 112 and 100 in the matchup.

Cook, Goundry and Archibald (30.33) knitted well together as a team as they put together a 33 darter over the 1001 distance, whilst Quinton Taylor's 180 was the only effort of its kind.

Fawn A were defeated 8-3 by Kings Arms B despite thirteen scores of a ton or more from Reg Matthews in the loss.

The trio of David Johns, Mike Tucker and Paul Hendy all bagged maximums for the victors, whilst Johns' 120 checkout was the best finish of the matchup.

Hendy also showed his class at the business end with a leg that was finished off after 15 darts were thrown, which helped him to a 3-1 success.

Twelve tons rained down from the arm of Mark Shears, which gave Ford Inn the platform to claim a 10-1 win over Raffles B.

Both James Chudleigh and Dan Brazier bagged eleven tons each to provide cover fire, whilst Danny Bull found a ten ton total for the away side.

Shears opened the individual phase with a 17 dart leg that proved crucial in deciding a 3-2 victory before Bull became the only winner for his team in a 3-1 success that included a 17 darter, and saw him reach ten tons.

The only three treble visit of the contest came from the arm of Shears' teammate Ant Pearn as he fired in a 2-1 doubles win.

Chris Edgecombe fired eleven tons, which led Tradesmans to a 7-4 victory which came during a visit to Bluebird.

Edgecombe was supported well by Simon Washington, who added ten ton plusses to the board, whilst Jodie Hawton added a 124 checkout to the board to claim the highest checkout in her 3-0 singles win.

Glenn Austin performed well in the individual phase of play with a 117 combination outshot and a 15 dart leg adorning his 3-0 success.

Ten tons were fired by both George Beckett and Marc Webber, but the pair saw their Steampacket succumb to Ker St A by a 6-5 scoreline.

The 180s were shared equally between the two teams as Nick Miller and Ian Heggie both bagged three treble visits.

Sandwiched in between Heggie's checkouts of 78 and 92 was an 81 by Pete Lamerton, whilst Beckett matched Heggie's 78 for his team's best effort of the night.
