Tonight Matthews, I'm Going To Be... A Fawn Hero!

Seventeen tons from Dave Matthews helped reigning Steve Chapman 501 League champions Fawn B close the gap at the top to three points thanks to an 8-3 success over St Levans.

It certainly wasn't a one man mission though as Matthews was joined by John Mann and Andy Bates in achieving double figures in ton plusses with eleven and ten respectively.

Mann and Matthews also fired maximums in the match with the others were provided from the hands of teammate Jaden Whitting and Mike Pearce, who hit the defeated team's only effort.

Tex Pearce provided the lion's share of the ammunition for the Keyham side with an unbeaten eleven tons amongst sextet for the visitors.

Bates (26.84) was the best individual player with legs in 17 and 18 darts helping towards a notable 3-0 win by a more than decent average.

Whitting joined Matthews in bagging a 16 darter each in respective 3-0 and 3-1 wins whilst Mann's 14 darter in a 3-0 win was joined by an leg in 18 of his own.

Billy Evans fired sixteen three figure scores to help the leaders Victory C over the line in a 6-5 success over stablemates Victory A.

Evans was well supported in the win by Mark Shears, Paul Gavican and Tom James who reached thirteen, twelve and eleven tons each.

In a game that was very much not all one way traffic, Scott Lawrey also fired ten tons for the defeated team whilst the six maximums in the game were shared between the two sides.

Lawrey's teammates Paul Goundry, Paddy Archibald and Kelvin Rowe all fired an effort each whilst Shears joined James and Evans in adding one each to their mammoth totals.

It wasn't just the scoring phase where the twelve marksmen on display excelled as Rowe put his team 4-2 up with a 17 darter helping him get the better of Gavican who hit back with a leg in 14.

Quinton Taylor made it 5-2 to the designated home side with a leg in 18 before James got the come back started with a 3-0 success thanks it part to a leg in 17.

Shears (29.47) then blew his opponent away with a 3-0 success thanks to legs in 17, 18 and 16 darts before Evans won 3-2 to make it 5-5.

That particular rubber saw the defeated man, Goundry, throw an 18 darter at his adversary in vein as legs of 17 and 14 got the Victory C man over the line to give Jason Pinkerton the chance to run out 3-1 for the win.

Andrew Cook top scored with twelve tons as King Billy won their home encounter with local rivals Ker St by an 11-0 score line.

Scott Cook was also in good nick with a 128 checkout in a 2-0 doubles win with teammate Zak Burden that also saw a 21 dart 601.

Scott Cook also added the game's shortest leg with a 16 darter in a 3-1 success whilst Antony Hayman bagged a crucial 18 dart leg in a 3-2 triumph.

Hayman nailed two of a trio of maximums personally in that tightly fought individual contest; the only efforts of it's kind in the match.

Paul Palmer added twelve tons to the scoreboard in a 10-1 triumph for Kings Arms away at Duchy of Cornwall, which helped towards a fourth win in five outings so far this season.

Dave Johns was also prominent for the Oreston side as he downed his opponent 3-0 with help of a leg in just 16 darts.

Paul Tackle was Bar Mez' hero as he hit twelve tons in a 6-5 win for the Cornwall side at Victory Hammers; a match won by Tackle himself thanks to a 3-1 success during the last tie of the match.

Simon Washington's three maximums proved to be some what of a catalyst in a 7-4 success for Octagon over Cherry Tree.

The game itself was littered with good individual performances; none better than Dan Brazier's (24.64) 3-0 triumph for the defeated team.

Robbie Bisgrove put in an 18 darter during a 3-0 win whilst Alfie Ford provided legs of 14 and 17 darts during another win by the same score line to make the match score look comfortable in the final two rubbers.

Three magnificent checkouts stole the headlines in a 6-5 win for Indian Inn over Fawn A with Mike Bassett's 121 providing the best of the trio for the defeated team.

Mark Hatherley's 97 single visit check had to settle for third best as that was beaten by a 112 from teammate Ian Heggie in a 3-0 singles win.
