Phil powers his way to season's top game in 29 darts

STEAM Packet won 12-1 on their visit to Bull and Bush in the Plymouth and District Friday League and were buoyed by an outstanding performance from Phil Taylor.

In equalling the season’s top game, Taylor (34.52) secured his singles in 29 darts, including a 12-dart salvo which harvested no fewer than 600 points.

Kings Tamerton CC overcame Octagon Social Club 11-2 and had Simon Godfrey (30.33) and Ralph Lancaster (30.33) both winning their individual games in 33.

Porters won in doubles figures when restricting Brookside to just a single point while another big win was achieved by Jolly Miller when they whitewashed City Social B on their own board.

SEASON'S BEST: Phil Taylor equalled the season's best game when he secured his singles in 29 darts for a three-dart average of 103.56.

City Social A had Glyn Wells, Kieran Burns and Cat Callard (29.44) taking their treble in 34 before going on to a 10-3 victory at The Windmill while Indian Inn A and Dinky Diner B both won by the narrowest of margins against Dinky Diner A and Waterloo Inn respectively.

Kev Walker (100x12) top scored for The Tradesman in their 10-3 victory away at Royal Naval Arms B while Weston Mill Oak Villa also won on the road and defeated Queens Dock 9-4.

City Social C had only achieved two victories from their previous 12 matches but returned to winning ways when they edged out Railway Inn 7-6, while a win by the narrowest of margins was also achieved by Indian Inn B away at The Office.

Brewery Tap A were 10-3 winners at Pennycross Social Club and also took the week’s highest checkout award when Pete James (27.81) finished a 36-darter with a kill of 125.

Also, on target with ton-plus outshots were Simon Washington (118), Luke Johnson (117), Kieren Cremen (101).
