Billy Boyz King Of Trebles
Andrew Cook, Scott Wapshott and Matt Chegwin won the annual Monday Premier League Trebles competition at the St Levans by the narrowest of margins.
Cook started the night in the quarter finals with his first of two maximums he personally hit on the night in a 3-0 win over the team from the Union Inn.
There was a 3-0 loss for the Devonport side's other representatives though as Cook's brother Scott also chalked a 180 himself for his Victory B team containing himself, Paul Goundry and Anthony Pearn.
King Billy's opponents were another side from the Victory B, Mark Shears, Paddy Archibald and Paul Gavican, who also won their first match 3-0.
The Billy Boyz continued their run of not dropping a leg in the competition with a 4-0 defeat of Victory B with Andrew Cook notching a second maximum of the night.
The final semi-finalist were the league leaders, Tradesmans, who despatched their neighbours Octagon B 3-0 thanks in part to a maximum from Andy Bates.
Tradesmans booked their place in the final thanks to a 4-1 defeat of their opponents from Honicknowle to end the interest of the Victory in the night's action.
Luke Johnson produced a 91 finish that was beaten in the tie by Mike O'Brien's 96 checkout, with the latter also chalking a 180 onto the scoreboard.
The final was a much closer affair than all previous ties in any round and this was much down to the form of Johnson who checked finishes of 156 and 88 in the final for the Stonehouse side.
However, the King Billy eventually ran out 5-4 winners to take the tie and winners prize in a fine evening for the Devonport based team.
