Hayman Makes Hay For Billy Boyz

Antony Hayman produced a stunning performance for the King Billy A in the Steve Chapman 501 League, which assisted the Devonport side to a 10-1 win over Cherry Tree.

Hayman notched three maximums and a 135 finish, which was the highest of both in this week's round of fixtures.

Two other maximums were scored in the contest with Hayman's teammate John Mann adding a fourth for King Billy and Cherry Tree's Paul Hoare bagging one of his own.

No fewer than five players reached the magic double figure ton mark in Torpoint Cons 8-3 defeat against Octagon.

Neil Reid top scored for the Cornwall side with thirteen whilst the next highest total was shared by Octagon's Lewis Dare and Jayden Dodd who both notched eleven.

Reid's teammates Tom Full and Paul Tackle both reached ten each with the latter also securing the lowest number of darts on the night with a fine 16 darter.

Dare and Dodd teamed up in the double for 17 dart 601 leg for a 35.35 average per dart and the pair were two of three players to hit maximums.

The other 180 went to Cons' Reid with Dare also contributing the highest outshot of the match with a fine 120 kill.

Fawn B and St Levans shared five maximums as the Greenbank side narrowly defeated their Keyham rivals by the odd leg in eleven to draw level with St Levans in the standings on eighty-seven points.

Levy's Mike Pearce and Fawn's Lee Agar both hit maximums on their way to top scoring with eleven ton plusses on the night, with the latter also producing a 16 dart leg in their singles clash.

Cornish youth starlet Jaden Whitting joined the pair in the 180 column whilst Whitting's teammates Jodie Hawton and Mike O'Brien both hit ton plus finishes with 114 and 120 respectively.

Fred Goldsmith and Shaun Dring were the other 180 hitters with Goldsmith winning the deciding tie of the night 3-0 to give Fawn B the victory.

Victory A claimed all but two points on offer against the other Fawn side, the A team, with the result maybe flattering the Honicknowle side as five were decided by last leg shootouts.

Tony Tasker joined Scott Lawrey in taking a leg in 18 darts with Lawrey going two better to notch a 16 darter as well.

Darren Collis and Lawrey both hit eleven ton plusses and their teammate Quinton Taylor was the only player to find three trebles in the same visit in a successful night for the Victory.

Victory B had the opposite fortune to their stablemates as they went down 7-4 to King Billy B.

Despite the result, Victory's Danny Allen top scored with thirteen ton plusses with the only contribution of note for the Devonport side coming from Scott Wapshott's maximum.

Kings Arms left bottom side Indian Inn still waiting for their first win of the season after handing the Stoke side a 9-2 defeat.

The Oreston side did most of the running in this contest with Reg Matthews and Paul Palmer hitting the only maximums whilst teammate Tony Sansom had the highest finish with a 100.

Indian's Louis Yates produced the only noteworthy entry for Indian with an 18 darter that was beaten by Kings' Dave Algar who went one dart better with a fine 17 dart kill.
