What A Tangled Webb Marc Weaved

Marc Webber fired an unbeaten sixteen three figure scores in the Plymouth City Super League Division A but still saw his Steampacket side fall to a 6-5 loss in their visit to Fawn A.

Bill Scannell won the winning point in the final game with the scores tied at 5-5 whilst Webber was also clinical in the finishing section of the game.

A 117 checkout accented Webber's mammoth ton total whilst his crucial 16 darter in a 3-2 win was the best leg of 501 in the match.

Webber's teammate George Beckett was also prominent with the only maximum on his way to ten scores of a ton or more.

Simon Kelly continued his explosive current form with fifteen scores of a ton or more in his Kings Arms B side's 9-2 pummelling of Kelly's old teammates Saltram.

Kelly was well supported in the endeavour by Tony Gordon who added ten tons to the scoreboard whilst Dave Johns added the victorious host's only maximum.

Gordon (27.32) dispatched his singles opponent 3-0 with the help of two 18 darters whilst teammate Martyn Down was a 3-2 winner over Mark Lyons thanks in part to a 118 highest checkout of the game.

Lyons showed good moments for the defeated side with a 17 darter during his defeat and also was the only member of his side to hear '180' called after throwing.

Reg Matthews also checked a leg in 17 darts during another 3-2 loss for the visitors whilst Paul Hendy top scored for the defeated team with ten tons overall.

Lee Doncaster was the main aggressor for King Billy in a 10-1 win over Indian Inn that saw Doncaster nail two ton plus checkouts on his way to fourteen three figure scores.

Doncaster's 106 and 128 three dart combination out shots were still not the best out shots of the match as teammate Paddy Archibald showed the class that recently earned him Cornwall county honours.

Archibald put away not just the highest finish of the match, but also the biggest checkout across both divisions of the league with a fine 150 finish.

Archibald was also one of three maximum hitters for the Devonport side as Antony Hayman and Paul Palmer both struck.

Palmer added eleven more tons to leave him on twelve personally whilst Paul Goundry fired eleven three figure scores in a dominant display.

The cherry on top of Goundry's 3-1 success in the singles phase was a 17 darter that was matched by Palmer who also added a leg in 17 during his 3-2 triumph.

Dale Halford ended his night on fourteen ton plusses but still found himself on the wrong end of an 8-3 loss as Bluebird B were defeated by Colebrook.

Halford added his team's only maximum to a fine tally whilst teammates Wayne Oddie and Nige Bassett both heard scores of a ton or more called eleven times each.

Oddie fell 3-2 to Dave Hollow in spite of a 17 darter whilst Hollow top scored for the home side with eleven tons whilst teammate James Ewing added a maximum to his evening's body of work.

Darren Smith was also in good nick for the triumphant Plympton outfit with ten tons that included a game high checkout of 110.

Glenn Halford suffered a similar fate to his brother Dale for the Bluebird A as Halford added twelve tons but still left the pub licking his wounds as his Compton side lost home against Legends Lounge.

Halford added to a total of maximums that bettered the opposition in that particular stat 4-3 with Tony Teal, James Stoodley and Owen Cook joining Halford in hitting a solitary three treble visit.

Paul Gavican was a 180 hitter on his way to ten tons, as was Mark Shears whilst Ant Pearn was the other member of the away side to pick up a maximum.

Top scorer for the visitors from St Budeaux with eleven tons was Dan Brazier whilst a number of checkouts and short games lit up the singles phase of play.

None stood out more than Scott Wapshott's (27.83) 18 and 14 dart legs on his way to a 3-0 win whilst Pearn also added a leg in 18 during his 3-0 triumph.

Glenn Austin was a 3-2 winner in a notable scalp of Scott Cook which took a leg in 16 and a 109 three dart combination outshot for Austin to get the better of his distinguished rival.

Dave Lee's eleven tons for Cherry Tree A couldn't stop them from slipping to a 7-4 defeat against Victory who picked up their second win of a difficult campaign.

In Division B, Mick Bingham's eleven ton plusses included the game's only maximum, but that couldn't stop Victoria from succumbing to Cherry Tree B by a 6-5 score line.

The highlights for the victorious visitors were a 79 checkout by Heather Toney before Paul Hoare won the game on the final singles 3-1 with the scores tied at 5-5 going into the last game.

A 7-4 win for Cornwall Gate over Fawn B was accented by a Simon Stevenson eleven ton tally whilst Matt Vosper also reached double figures with ten tons.

Mark Sargeant showed patches of brilliance with a 96 checkout that bettered an 80 by his singles opponent Andy Malinowski.

Sargeant went on to defeat Malinowski 3-1 with legs in 14 and 16 darts doing the damage in a battle of two top players.

Bob Wood fired ten tons for Hyde Park, but that wasn't enough to arrest the Peverell team's slide to Kings Tamerton who came out 8-3 winners.

The highlight of the win was a 127 three dart combination out shot by Lee Soper who took the honours of the best finish of the match as well as the high checkout prize for the division with that master stroke.

Colin Sloman might've dominated the scoring with ten tons but that didn't stop his Kings Arms A team from losing 6-5 in their visit to Duchy A who themselves pick up a third win.

Sloman's teammate Mike Sant also showed some of his best form with a fine 104 checkout that helped him to a 3-1 success individually.

John Sturdy fired ten tons for St Levans but Ker St still found a way to beat Sturdy's men by a 7-4 score line thanks in part to a Ralph Lancaster 74 checkout and a Pete Lamerton 180.

CJ Hardy's 105 checkout helped Duchy B to one of just two points gained against Clifton in a 9-2 defeat that saw a smattering of good play by the Greenbank outfit.

Wayne Davis' 82 checkout was the best finish by any of the six players from the victors whilst Wayne Town was a 3-0 winner thanks in part to a leg in 18.
