Perryman Is Cherry's Man

Danny Perryman top scored with thirteen tons for Cherry Tree who got their inaugural Steve Chapman 501 League campaign back on track with an 8-3 first win in four outings over Victory Hammers.

Perryman was well supported by teammate Luke Beard who managed ten tons during the game whilst teammate Matt Kingdon helped himself to the newly formed team's only maximum.

Perryman didn't stop in the scoring phase with a winning leg in 18 darts giving him the best of the match; a leg that was crucial in securing a 3-2 success.

Nick Miller and Kieran Harris both added 180s for the defeated team whilst Dan Brazier's 100 checkout bettered a James Ewing 80 checkout finished in two darts with two double tops.

Three players reached double figures for ton plusses in a 9-2 win for Octagon over Fawn A; the foremost of which was Alfie Ford with thirteen three figure scores.

Simon Washington was one further back on twelve whilst Robbie Bisgrove ploughed in eleven ton plusses overall.

Ford and Bisgrove added a 180 a piece to their totals whilst Washington found the highest checkout of the match with a fine 82 single visit kill.

John Mann added thirteen ton plusses for reigning champions Fawn B who came back from their trip to Cornwall with a 10-1 win over Bar Mez.

Mann was well supported by a trio of his teammates as Jaden Whitting and Andy Bates put eleven tons onto the scoreboard, and Fred Goldsmith added ten three figure scores.

Bates, Mann and Goldsmith all added 180s to their totals with Lee Rodmell finishing on thirteen tons for the home side; a total that included a brace of maximums.

After losing their only point of the match in the second trebles, the Greenbank side got into their stride during the doubles phase with Mann and Whitting (30.05) adding 601 legs in 21 and 19 darts.

Goldsmith put up his maximum in a pairs outing with Pete Holland; a matchup that also contained a 20 dart leg for the duo whilst Bates and Lee Agar completed the clean sweep of doubles with the help of a Bates 100 out.

The world class darts continued throughout the singles with Holland winning his individual 3-1 with the help of a leg in 16 before Whitting bested Rodmell in a tie that saw the latter win one of his two legs in 18.

Bates 3-0 success was helped along by a leg in 16 before Mann checked one in 15 darts during another 3-0 triumph in the last rubber of the evening.

A classic encounter between St Levans and King Billy was won by the former 6-5 in a last leg deciding leg win by Hayley Brant.

Brant got the better of youngster Frankie Stout 3-2 who had checked one of the two legs he won with a fine 111 kill.

That effort was only bettered by St Levans ten ton man Mike Pearce who added a 120 kill to his dectet of three figure efforts.

The Devonport outfit had the victory in touching distance after going 5-3 up thanks to some excellent play from both Andrew Cook and Zak Burden.

Cook (27.33) helped himself to a brace of legs in 17 darts in a 3-0 success that ended with the Cornwall man on ten ton plusses.

Burden also reached double figures in three figure scores after his 3-1 success in which a leg was won in 15 darts.

Unfortunately for the King Billy, that was the last contest they secured as Pearce won a leg in 15 darts in a 3-0 before Brant completed the comeback.

Mark Hatherley and Ian Heggie showed good form with ten tons each but still found themselves on the wrong side of a 9-2 defeat as Indian Inn were beaten by Kings Arms.

Hatherley and opponent Dave Johns played out a high class contest with the latter winning 3-2 thanks to a crucial 18 dart leg after Hatherley had put in legs in 17 and 18 of his own.

Johns' teammate Paul Hendy also contributed a leg in 17 in a 3-0 success whilst Reg Matthews 112 checkout was proclaimed the highest of the contest.

Tony Tasker and Kelvin Rowe turned on the style for Victory A with ten tons each in a 10-1 success over Ker St.

Quinton Taylor's 18 dart leg in a 3-0 individual triumph was bettered twice by Rowe and Tasker who checked legs in 17 and 15 darts in their respective 3-0 and 3-1 successes.

The Devonport side came away from this home game with the strange statistic of securing more 180s than points as Lewis Byrne and Andy Williams threw one each.

Billy Evans' ten ton haul was a shot in the arm of the Victory C's early title hopes as they claimed an 11-0 success over Duchy.

The cherry on the top of Evans' performance was three of the four maximums in the match with Jason Pinkerton providing the other.

Evans was also clinical in the finishing phase as he checked legs in 16 and 18 darts in a 3-2 individual win whilst Scott Wapshott's 138 checkout was the highest of any player in the league during this particular game week.
