Tex Makes St Levans Tick

Tex Pearce was the star of the show in St Levans 7-4 win over Bar Mez has he heard scores of a ton or more called out no fewer than thirteen times in the Steve Chapman 501 League.

Pearce also checked the best of the match with a 16 darter in his 3-0 win whilst Anna Pearce added a crucial leg in 17 in a 3-2 triumph.

Lee Rodmell fired a 17 dart leg of his own in his 3-0 success whilst Mike Pearce's 18 darter helped him to a 3-0 win.

Rodmell was the only 180 scorer for the defeated team whilst Anna Pearce was joined by Matt Pearce in achieving that feat, with Anna Pearce also adding a 92 checkout to her night's work.

Lee Hellings thirteen tons and twelve more from Paul Palmer assisted in getting Kings Arms across the line by a 9-2 score line in their home match against Victory Hammers.

Hellings checked a leg in 14 darts during his 3-0 win whilst wife Lisa Hellings paired with Dave Johns for a more than decent 22 dart leg over the 601 format.

Six 180s rained down on the proceedings as Nick Miller and Kieran Harris' braces for the defeated team were joined by solitary efforts by Palmer and Johns for the Oreston side.

Twelve ton plusses, including his team's only maximum, from Mike Bassett wasn't enough to arrest Fawn A's slide to a 7-4 home defeat against Victory A.

Scott Lawrey led the charge for the victors with ten tons whilst Paul Goundry netted a duo of maximums to go with a solitary effort from Paddy Archibald.

Archibald's 118 finish was only bettered by Liam Taylor's 130 during a narrow 3-2 defeat to his father Quinton Taylor in the singles phase.

Lawrey's leg in 16 in a 3-0 win was the best over the 501 distance whilst Mike Nancholas and Dave Barton managed to match that 16 dart effort over the 601 doubles format.

Eleven tons from Mark Turner stole the show for Victory C and helped the Honicknowle side to a 7-4 success over Octagon.

Turner's total was ticked over by checkouts of 116 and 113; those efforts only beaten by Mark Shears' highest checkout of the match of 137 which wasn't bettered in any of the seven fixtures played this game week.

Paul Gavican was also in fine fettle for the winners with ten tons whilst legs of 17 and 14 darts gave Gavican a 3-1 individual triumph.

Shears joined teammate Billy Evans, and Dave Pethick for the defeated side, in achieving one maximum each whilst the best competitor for the visitors from Stonehouse was Robbie Bisgrove who fired ten tons.

As many as six maximums lit up King Billy's 10-1 win over Duchy with both Antony Hayman and Scott Cook adding a brace to individual efforts from stablemate Andrew Cook and Duchy's Rob Wills.

Hayman's pair added the icing on the cake of an eleven ton personal tally whilst Hayman and Zak Burden (27.95) put together two legs of 601 in 21 and 22 darts.

Dan Perryman and Dan Brazier's eleven tons each gave Cherry Tree the catalyst to take a 10-1 win from their trip to Ker St.

Perryman's 109 checkout narrowly bettered a 108 from teammate Luke Beard whilst Beard's 16 darter in his 3-0 win had to settle for second best in the least number of darts stakes as Brazier checked in 15 in his 3-1 triumph.

Dave Matthews eleven three figure scores was ticked over by two maximums in an 11-0 triumph for runaway leaders Fawn B in their visit to Indian Inn.

Matthews' teammates Fred Goldsmith and Andy Bates added to that total of maximums whilst Ian Heggie helped himself to Indian's solitary three treble visit of the contest.

Matthews 14 darter proved to be crucial in a 3-2 win over Mark Hatherley who himself added a 17 dart leg and a checkout of 131 in the two legs he won in the defeat.

Three more legs in 17 preceded that Hatherley effort with Jaden Whitting, Lee Agar and Bates all hearing 'game shot' after throwing that many darts in their individual wins.
